Front

VF-4G Lightning III
As the successor of the VF-1, it's a three-hull aircraft that's composed of two-motored engine parts and a nose block. It was also referred to by the pet name "Arrow", because of its unique shape. The G model is an advanced variant that has improved engine output. In addition to being inserted into "Operation Orpheus" in 2047, the Milky Dolls idol group rescue operation, the VF-4 was also operated in the Special Duty Force Dancing Skull. * Translator's note: originally was: "The VF-1 Valkyrie's successor aircraft. It adopts a three-hull form consisting of two-motored engine nacelle parts and a nose block, and from that shape, it got its pet-name "Arrow". The G model is an advanced variant with improved engine output. In the game "Macross Digital Mission VF-X", it is one of the aircraft that the main character of the game flies on his duty to rescue the idol group "Milky Dolls", who were kidnapped. Also, in the game "Macross M3", it is the aircraft that Max and Miria board in the Special Duty Force Dancing Skull."

Up: Even when in Battroid, it can fly at low altitude for a short time. The colouring is for Max's aircraft. [Macross M3]

Caption: The VF-4G is in the interior of the picture. [Macross Digital Mission VF-X]

Caption: Max's aircraft just before take-off from the mothership Algenicus. [Macross M3]

Down: GERWALK form with its characteristic crane neck. The engine nacelle's upper part becomes the arms, and the lower part becomes the legs.

VF-5000B Star Mirage
An aircraft based on the baseline design of the VF-1, with some Zentraadi technology introduced into it. As it excels in reliability and durability, it took over the seat of the main fighter from the VF-4 from around the latter half of the 2020's. The Special Duty Force Dancing Skull conducted an escort transport mission for the VF-5000 in 2020, which was a state-of-the-art aircraft at that time, and after the mission, the VF-5000 was operated in that unit. * Translator's note: originally was: "The VF aircraft that introduced Zentraadi technology into the baseline design of the VF-1. As the first Variable Fighter of Shinsei Industry, it took over the seat of the main fighter from the VF-4. In the game "Macross Plus -Game Edition-", the VF-5000 appears as a practice target for the YF-19 and YF-21. Also, in the game "Macross M3", the just-developed VF-5000 is accepted by Max and Miria, and they take it back to their mothership."

Caption: Miria's aircraft, which used a red personal colouring. [Macross M3]

Down: Excelling in mobility in the atmosphere, the VF-5000 bears the burden of covering the the skies and air superiority. The colouring is Max's aircraft. [Macross M3]*

Left: The VF-5000 is equipped with micro-missile launchers in both legs and both arms. The colouring is Miria's craft. [Macross M3]*

* Translator's note: "[Macross M3]" added in the revised edition.

VA-3M Invader
The VA-3 was developed as an all-regime attack craft that's equipped with a ground attack dedicated FCS. It is an aircraft designed stressing manoeuvrability and stability in the low-altitude atmosphere, to the extent that it excels in survivability even though it has inferior speed performance. It has many hard-points on the aircraft, and can carry a load weight of up to a sum total of 19,820 kg on them. It was operated in the Special Duty Force Ravens, and played an active role in such missions as the one to Eden 3, where a fresh water sea accounts for 90% of the planet's surface. [Source: VF-X2]*

It is one of the aircraft used by the Special Duty Force "Ravens" in the game "Macross VF-X2", and it opens up in the submarine battle on Eden 3 - a planet with 90% of it's surface covered in a fresh-water sea."

Data
Length: 16.20 m
Weight: 13,330 kg empty weight
Engine: 2x Shinnakasu Heavy Industry / P&W / Royce FF-2020A Thermonuclear Turbine
Maximum Speed: Mach 2.2+
Standard Armament: 2x Beam Gun, 6x High-manoeuvrable Missile, 12x Micro-missile Launchers, Torpedoes (only when underwater only)

Up: With the M model, the pods under the main wings function as floats for water takeoff and landing.

Right: Water Landing Mode

Up: The pods under the main wings, which are floats, extend on braces in order to float the aircraft above the water's surface when landing on the water.

Left: In addition to a central main camera, the head is furnished with four auxiliary cameras.

Right: The pods under the main wings become the arms, and the rear part of the fuselage becomes the legs, when in Attacker mode.

Down: Underwater Submerged Navigation Mode

Up: When diving, the VA-3M transforms by folded down the tips of the main wings 90 degrees, reducing their overall width, and so on to decrease its water resistance.

VB-6 Konig Monster
A Variable Bomber (VB) that inherits the concept of the HWR-00-Mk-II Monster, and enables independent flight and high-speed deployments. It was used for independent long-range bombardment, missions to gain total control in small units, and so on, because the VB-6 has both the deployment capabilities of an average VF and the great firepower of a Destroid. A VB-6 was also deployed to the Special Duty Force Ravens, and it was invested into the mission to mop up the terrorist group "Black Rainbow", which had taken refuge in Hyde City.*

It was used for independent long-range bombardment, missions to gain total control in small units, and so on, because the VB-6 has both the deployment capabilities of an average VF and the great firepower of a Destroid. In the game "Macross VF-X2", it is unique among the aircraft used by the Special Duty Force Ravens, and it can only be used in the mission to Hyde City, where the surviving warriors of the "Black Rainbow" terrorist group have taken refuge."

Caption: Even though it is a slow aircraft, its armour is extraordinarily strong, and its large build changes into a weapon that lightly crushes tanks underfoot.

Data
Overall length: 29.78 m
Weight: 101,900 kg empty weight
Engine: 4x Shinnakasu Heavy Industry / P&W / Royce FF-2025BX Thermonuclear Turbine, 4x Shinnakasu / Viggers composite Electromagnetic Plasma Rocket
Engine & Rail-gun System
Maximum Speed: Mach 1.7+ (at 10,000 m), Mach 3.2 (at 30,000 m)
Standard Armament: 1x 4-gun 320 mm Rail-gun, 2x 3-barrel Anti-ground Anti-ship Heavy Missile Launcher, 1x Anti-air Anti-ground Machine Gun Turret, 2x
Anti-air Anti-Ground Quick-Firing Close-Range Small-size High-Manoeuvrability Micro-Missile Launcher.

Transformation Sequence
Translator's note: the following are ordered how they appear in the sequence

Down: Shuttle Mode The VB-6 flies with a propulsion engine which is the super-electromagnetic catapults of the rail-guns being used as plasma rockets. ?

Up: The missile launchers, which are equivalent to arms, unfold from the top part of the hull, and both wings, which are the legs, fold down 90 degrees.

Right: The rail-gun part is delivered and the ammunition supply system, which composes the lower part of the hull, is simultaneously erected into place with each joint of the arms and legs.

Right: Heavy GERWALK Mode
The mode that enables the full display of the VB-6's firepower. Even though the VB-6 inherited the Monster's shape, its size is 2/3 that of the model Monster.*

* Translator's note: originally was: "The mode that amply demonstrates the VB-6's firepower. The VB-6 inherited the Monster's shape, and its size is 2/3 that of the model Monster."

Down: The rail-gun rises about 90 degrees, and both shoulders in their entirety expand 90 degrees to the left and right. Matching them is the decent of the cockpit block, and the rotation block in the waist is pushed out.

Up: The head slides forward over the sinking cockpit, and the leg joint sections expand. The missile launchers rotate 180 degrees, and the wrists push out.

Down: Destroid Mode
When firing missiles, the arms rotate 180 degrees. The gigantic figure sinks into soft ground because its ground contact area is small.
