Extra Report: The Grand Cannon, The Keystone Of The Earth's Defence
The greatest reason why Admiral Hayase and the Unified Forces made a bold start in the decisive battle with the Bodoru Main Fleet was the existence of the "Grand Cannon" large output attack weapon, which was built in the Alaska Base. The fire power of this interception weapon that converted the Earth's gravitational field into energy was tremendous, and it was predicted to be able to sufficiently oppose even the alien fleet. However, in combat, it made merely 1 fusillade, and lacking the time to fire a second time, it was tragically driven into a nonfunctional state by a bombardment from satellite orbit.

Caption: The Grand Cannon, which caught the alien fleet in its sights, consigned 800,000 battleships that were located in the sky over Alaska to oblivion in one blow.
