Up/Left: After meeting Sara and Mao on Mayan Island, Shin began to show a softer face. Seeing these humane expressions, Mao seemed to be relieved.
Down/Right: Shin in his pilot suit. Basically, it is a specification common to the fighter aircraft that use OTM, and the shoulder and back protectors are worn as harness fasteners.

The offensive and defensive battles on Mayan Island and the awakening and rampaging of the Protoculture relic "Birdman" (Eiphos), which accompanied those battles, were written down in the biography of Shin - the person who was at the center of the incident. That biography was made into a theatrical movie in the Frontier Fleet in 2059, when approximately half a century had passed since 2008, the year that the incident is considered to have occurred in. The movie is "Bird Human -The Birdman-". Even though Ranka Lee performed Mao and suddenly became popular starting with this movie, oddly, her mother was a research member on the same team as Mao Nome herself, who later became the renown scientist Dr. Mao. In addition, the movie is a work that cannot help feel like a curious coincidence, as Sheryl Nome, who sung the movie's image song, is Dr. Mao's granddaughter.
