Macross 7
Story

In 2045, the Macross 7 Fleet, which is continuing to voyage aiming at the center of the galaxy, suffers the attacks of the enemy Varohta Forces, who absorb the "spiritia" that humans have. During the hard fighting of the Unified Forces, the actions of the Macross 7 Fleet's rock singer Nekki Basara, who drives a deep crimson Valkyrie and sings on the battlefield, causes a ripple in the fighting. Thus, the identity of the enemy becomes clear. The power of Basara's songs become the key to the conflict.

Caption: The songs of Basara and others attain a power that shakes the galaxy, and becomes the guideposts of people.

Macross 7: The Galaxy Is Calling Me
Story

Basara, harbours an interest in a voice that reverberates from an abnormal space-time ahead, leaps out from the fleet during a Song Energy experiment, and struggles along to a frontier planet. Thereupon waits a howling that the people fear is the curse of a demon. Basara feels the power of the song in it, and tries to ascertain its true identity.
This movie was produced as what amounted to an episode in the middle of the series, and was released at the same time as "Macross Plus Movie Edition", on October 17, 1995.

Caption: Emiria, the woman who draws Zentraadi blood, and Basara empathize through song.

Opening Clip
The opening clip raises the curtain from the scene of a Fire Bomber live performance. The content of the clip traces the storyline of the series, beginning with the contrast of Basara, who continues to sing, and Gamlin, who sorties; the raid of the Varohta, commanded by Gepperunicchi; and Basara, who more and more leaves the location of his companions and wanders the galaxy. Also, one of the great features of the clip is the use of 3DCG in it. It gathered the attention of the fans, as it was novel at the time in '94, when the series began to be on air.

"Seventh Moon"
Song: Fire Bomber
Song Lyrics: K. Inojo / Composition/Arrangement: Kawauchi Junki

Topics: The Way The Movie Version Opens
The same opening song and clip as the TV series "Macross 7" are used in the "Theatrical Maross 7: The Galaxy Is Calling Me!" However, only the last cut is replaced with a new illustration that unites the contents of the movie version.

Ending Clip
The ending song from Episode 1 to 34. In contrast to the opening, Mylene is prominent as the main vocalist. In addition, Mikimoto Haruhiko, who served as the original planner of the characters in this series, was personally in charge of the genga for the clip.

"My Friends"
Song: Fire Bomber
Song Lyrics: M. Meg / Composition: Kawano Miki / Arrangement: Kawauchi Junki

Ending Clip
A pop love song adorns the ending from the 35 to 48 episode. Koga Makoto, who was in charge of the genga, later served as the character designer and picture supervisor for "Theatrical Macross 7 - The Galaxy Is Calling Me!"

"... But Baby!!"
Song: Chie Kajiura
Song Lyrics: Chie Kajiura / Composition/Arrangement: Ota Kaname

* The 49th episode "The Singing Voice That Resounds In The Galaxy", which was the last episode of the original broadcast, had a special ending where Basara sings "Storming Love Heart".

Macross 7 Plus
A collection of short stories that were recorded as special clips on the videos, LDs, DVDs, Blu-ray Boxes, and so on. They consist of stories that concern the unexpected pasts of each character, side episodes that couldn't be experienced in the TV series, music videos, and so on.

Down: "Good Morning Mylene"
Mylene, who ignores Miria's nagging video message and welcomes the morning waking, is excited about making a fresh start during the day, but...

Down: "Storming Acoustic Love Heart"
A music video that projects the image of Basara travelling the world alone, backed by "Storming Love Heart -Acoustic Version-".

Down: "Main Street Fighter Viheeda Feez"*
Viheeda was once an undefeated hand-to-hand fighter that defeated tough fighters in great numbers. Together with her powerful drum performances, one can catch a glimpse of parts of her.

* Translator's note: the first (and only?) time her name is written in kanji.

Down: "Ray, Akiko, Stephan, and ..."
When Ray was young, he visited a peaceful mountain cottage with Akiko and Stefan. Thereupon, Akiko -who received a marriage proposal from Stephan- tries to confirm Ray's feelings.

Down: "Top Gamlin"
Gamlin, who enlisted in the Unified Forces, becomes a trainee pilot attached to Miria. What did he see at the limits of such severe training?

Down: "Seven Bridge"
Is it from normal tiredness?... Max falls asleep in a small room near the bridge. The bridge girls who happen to pass by there tend to him, but...

Down: "Fire Bomber's 1st Live Performance"
On May 21, 1995, Fire Bomber's first live performance in the real world was held in the Nippon Seinenkan's large hall. This is a live music video that includes some of that performance.

Down: "Spiritia Dreaming"
The Unified Forces attached Iriina Hayakawa arrives on the fourth Varohtan planet as a member of the investigation group. Thereupon, he comes to witness a terrible spectacle.

Down: "Gubaba's Planet"
Gubaba, who lives in tempestuous nature and was protected by Max a little bit before meeting Mylene, passed time as a single, weak creature that was chased by predators.

Down: "24 Hours Of City Police!"
The City Police continue to protect the peace and safety of City 7 -a town that never sleeps-, throughout the day and night. A camera sneaks into a tense crime scene that is shaken by the appearance of the Vampires.

Down: "Miria The President"
While occasionally crushing enemies with Valkyries and once lecturing on the high-handedness of the armed forces, as the mayor of City 7, Miria devotes herself to official business even now.

Down: "Let's Bomber"
Fire Bomber music videos that include the two songs: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Night", and "Diamond Calling". Team Rex also makes a friendly appearance in the videos.
