Commentary
In accordance with the title, the episode depicts the first meeting of Gamlin with Basara and Mylene. Although Gamlin, who is the lead actor in this episode, has been depicted as an honest military officer in the episodes so far, his attitude is unexpectedly good in this episode, and we see the real face of a good young man who is somewhat unfamiliar with the ways of the world. Especially in the middle of the episode where the viewer ends up smirking in the great scene where Gamlin, who had sat in the audience seats of the dim concert hall, descended and exchanged his impressions on the live performance with Basara et al, without either him nor Basara noticing the identity of the other. ... naturally Gamlin returns to being a strict military officer as soon as he knew that his opponent is Basara. On the other hand, Basara continues to regret having attacked the enemy with missiles in the previous episode's battle. This time, that Basara also stays in his heart as the figure who will let loose missiles again in order to defend civilians. Besides this, we would like you to also notice the surrounding aspects that move little by little, such as the enemy forces who begin to mark specific factors, such as "the spiritia of musicians", and Mylene, who behaved gracefully in front of Gamlin. One seems to be able to say that only this series, which has a long span over all 52 episodes, has an easy going tempo around it.

Topics: Frasuchakaya and "Because That Is the Future"
The singer Frasuchakaya sings "Because That is the Future" on the TV in Mylene's house at the start of the episode. This "Because That is the Future" was originally an unused song from "Macross II". On the other hand, although Frasuchakaya is a character created for "Macross 7", she was drawn with a slightly stiff expression, because the designer, Katsura Ken-ichiro, on listening to "Because That is the Future", had the image that "it doesn't seem like it'd be sung with a smiling face".

Topics: Basara's Musical Performances Taking the Place of the Background Music
In the last part of this episode, a guitar performance of "My Soul For You" flows in the background of the scene where Mylene calls on the ill Gamlin, and enlivens the calm mood. Afterwards, by transitioning the camera to Basara, who is strumming his guitar at the feet of his Valkyrie, one can infer from the direction of the scene that it was Basara who was playing "My Soul For You". In addition, background music isn't used throughout all of the episodes of "Macross 7", and they used the dramatical direction of "a song that someone is performing" flows in a scene whenever they wanted to enliven the atmosphere with music, like this scene.

Preview of the Next Episode
Mylene: "Basara, our next performance is the Resort Ship!"
Basara: "It's not sound that those guys who're wasting time are made to listen to!"
Mylene: "... hey, aren't you cold?"
Basara: "Say wha? We're being frozen!!"
Mylene: "Next time, "Summer Accident", extreme fire!!"
