Commentary
In the background of Fire Bomber's first album recording, the music that Basara wants is something that the episode returns the viewers gaze to. Starting with Basara's conflict, where he unavoidably shot missiles in episodes 5 and 6, the episode acutely transmits the mind of Basara, who searches for a sound that has an explosive power greater than that of a missile. However, he doesn't find that sound at the present time, and he is abandoned by Gamlin, who repulsed enemies with missiles and said, "after all that, your songs and the like are meaningless on the battlefield!"
Also, there are times that the viewer is able to enjoy the detailed depiction of the characters in this episode, even excepting the image of the cheerful yet strangely nervous character Honey Suzuki, such as Vihida, who opened her mouth for the first time in the series to admonish Mylene, and Kinryu, who invited Miho and Sally to privately dine with him, which show the unexpected side of the series regulars. Mylene's present from Gamlin is a pongee (soft, thin woven silk cloth), which is a prop that gives a sense of Gamlin's personality via his Japanese culture as a non-Japanese of Japanese decent.

Topics: The Ending "Upgrade"
Some of the ending is changed from this episode and it becomes a version where Mylene's illustrations are added in several spots to the images that flow in the background. These additions were to match the first participation as the main animator of the original character planner Mikimoto Haruhiko in the 11th episode, and was achieved with an additional order of ending illustrations form him. The feature of the new cut was to have emphasized "movement" by drawing scenes consecutively. In addition, we've heard that each cut was drawn with a theme that was consistent with "moments where a girl is aware of love".

Topics: Mylene's Private Clothes
The heroine of this series, Mylene, appears in different clothes in each episode, which was unusual for an anime at that time. According to the character designer Katsura Ken-ichiro, above all others, the pongee that appears in this episode gave him an exceedingly hard time in order to give it a kimono-like "pattern" while not become a burden to the animators that draw the pictures. Finally, although it took time to paint it in its different colours, he decided on a striped pattern that was comparatively easy to draw.
