Commentary
This episode, which included anecdotes of Minmei, who was in the first "Macross" and the movie "Do You Remember Love?", had a nuance of a special compilation to it, as at the time of its broadcast, it adorned the end of '94. Also, Mikimoto Haruhiko, one of the creators who built up "Macross", also participated for the first time without credit in this episode in the visual aspect, and was mainly in charge of correcting drawings. Although Mikimoto continued climbing the slope following the renovated version of the ending, it's said that this episode became his opportunity, as he had previously told Kawamori that if an old character, such as Minmei, appears, it would be interesting if he participated in it. Story-wise, in addition to the truth of Max and Miria's discord becoming more distinct, there's the point that Gamlin realizes Mylene's relationship with Fire Bomber. In addition, coinciding with Basara and Minmei's image, many viewers seem to have felt sympathy for the appearance of Mylene, who ran with her desires in the episode.
