Commentary
By driving Sybil away, Basara becomes the hero of City 7 in a single bound. The circumstances that surround him greatly change, such as appearing in TV programs and drawing crowds of fans to him. However, he doesn't show any interest in those things at all, and the attitude of Basara, who continues to pursue only singing, even more strongly impresses the viewer with his stoic portrait.
Also, Gamlin, who has been treated with a lot of misfortune up until now, is also finally given the chance to redeem himself. The manner that he gained total control of all 40 terrorist members who had occupied the City Office when he found himself alone with a rifle loaded with anaesthesia bullets, is a manner just like the protagonist of an action movie. The episode once more showed that he himself is an elite soldier, and shows that he is not only the best pilot in the Unified Forces, but also showed his exceptional abilities as its best soldier.

Topics: The World Where Earth's Mankind Coexists With Zentraadi
It's 35 years after the conclusion of the First Interstellar War, which was depicted in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross". From the appearance of Earth's mankind and Zentraadi coexisting very naturally in the Macross 7 Fleet, one can perceive the flow of that period. Incidentally, one of the Zentraadi citizens, who became ferocious due to Sybil's influence in this episode, has features that closely resemble those of the Zentraadi pilot Guld Goa Bowman, who appeared in "Macross Plus".

Topics: Miria's VF-1J
Gamlin seriously damaged Miria's VF-1J in episode 18. It's said that the aircraft is a memento of her sorties with Max as the aircraft with the history of actually having passed through the First Interstellar War 35 years earlier. When compared to the one from 35 years earlier, some parts of the airframe have been repainted, such as the head and thighs, and it is possible to infer that Miria has stored it with great care while repeatedly improving it.

Down: During the Varohta Campaign

Up: During the First Interstellar War
