Commentary
An episode that overflows with the feeling of tension surrounding City 7, which tries to escape from a gigantic, red hot star, and the offence and defence of both sides bewilderingly develops. Even though it depicts the state of the battle between the Varohta Forces and the Macross 7 Fleet, the activities of Battle 7, commanded by Max, especially stands out: he displays a bold assault strategy where the Battle 7 defolds before the eyes of the enemy fleet, immediately transforms to Storming Attack Form, and fires the Macross Cannon. One should be able to say that it was a great scene where that manner of dynamic battle seems to be in some way exceedingly "Macross", and it granted the fans satisfaction.
Also, the story also faces another turning point in City 7's return to the fleet - it had continued to drift for about 3 months. While intertwining various elements, such as the depiction of Gamlin's change of mind toward Basara and the approach of the Protodevilun organisms, the story shows a new phase.

Topics: The Akusho That Was Exposed To Intense Heat
This time, Akusho, which is where Fire Bomber's recording takes place, more strongly receives the heat of the star because it is outside of City 7 (more accurately, it is on the lower left side docking bay), and it doesn't have large-scale weather devices. Precisely because it is the non-registered area of the fleet, it seems that the residents of Akusho couldn't expect protection from the municipal government toward in this sort of emergency.

The exterior of City 7, which has a gigantic shell-like outer wall shell that stops such things as heat and enemy bombardments, looks very similar to the Island Cluster class City Ship Island 1 that appears in "Macross F". Both ships have a lot of functionally common features, such as being the largest residential ships, which become the core of an emigrant fleet, docking with the escort fleet flagships Battle 7 and Battle Frontier, the opening and shutting dome, and screens that project the weather. Even though the size of Island 1 is considerably larger when compared to City 7, it seems to have inherited the functions and structure of the New Macross class.
