Commentary
Like it was depicted during the series, even Alice, who is a singer in the real ability school, found it difficult to sing matching Basara's feeling. From this, as far as Basara is concerned, Mylene could be perceived as a partner who was difficult to replace. And Mylene revealed that she still respected Basara's singing ability. From these things, even though they always repulse each other, it is possible to infer their relationship as partners, which is connected to their mutual feelings as a part of their foundation.
Also, on the other hand, it alludes to the bonds of Gigiru and Sybil. Gigiru doesn't spare himself from even the crisis of his own life, not to mention disobeying Geperunicchi's orders, in order to save Sybil, who had fallen into a state of dormancy. Even though he as been depicted as wild in the cool-headed villain role so far, from the depictions in this episode, it turns out that a feeling of devotion toward his companion stayed in Gigiru, who is the Protodevilun that ought to get angry in this episode. The show entrusts the viewer with the judgement of his feelings for Sybil being mere dedication, or affection.

Topics: The Nature Sections Within The Macross Fleets
The Botanical Plant were Sybil was, which is outside the City 7 Section, is an Environment Ship that is composed of an artificially grown forest. "Macross F"'s Macross Frontier also had the Environment Ship, Island 3 coming alongside it, which resembled the Macross 7 one. The Environment Ships that arranged this sort of natural environment, are understood to have been essential in the Super Long Range Emigrant Fleets, which were assumed to be cruising for extended periods of time.

Topics: Basara and Alice's Duet Song
Even though it was Alice Holiday who came to have a duet with Basara in Akiko's project, because Basara had to sortie in the middle of recording, the song wasn't completed, and it was put aside indefinitely, as is. In addition, the song that the two sang was a musical arrangement of "Now We're Friends", from the "Macross II" soundtrack, and it was a song that had lyrics that were changed from the original song.
