Commentary
The episode that depicts Gamlin's unexpected feelings toward Basara and Gamlin's personal growth. Gamlin's high assessment of Basara as a pilot is revealed as he admonishes Mylene, who was irritated with her unconscious jealousy of Basara. Despite admitting his personal limits, the truth is caught in his sincerity, and it's possible to say that the words seem like a too-serious Gamlin, who legitimately evaluates any opponent. Thus, while room is being born in the heart of straight-laced Gamlin, it is also suggested in the unfolding of several episodes here that he is in the process of understanding the man named Basara.
It appears in his actions where he charges into the enemy line on his own so that those feelings may save Basara, and his honest respect for Basara is connected to Gamlin himself breaking through a barrier as a pilot. Also, from Basara's words after the battle, which assessed the improvement in Gamlin's piloting skills, it turns out that both are aware of each other as pilots; and it is possible to catch a glimpse of the strange friendship between the two.

Topics: The G-Resistance Training Facility
Gamlin endured the severe training of his teachers, commencing with Miria in the Unified Forces Training Ship Beginhill, in his pilot cadet period, and his abilities as an ace pilot were reared. This time, the G-resistance training facility that appears during the story, also appears in the "Macross 7" video software perk "Macross 7 Plus" volume "TOP GAMLIN", and depicts Gamlin when his face is distorted by intense centrifugal forces.
Topics: High Manoeuvrability Formation QM69
QM69 indicates consecutive high-speed turning from side to side by a Valkyrie. Basara puts that flying into practice in the VF-19 Kai, which has the fastest catalogue specs among the Valkyries (boasts a Mach 5.5+ maximum speed in the atmosphere), and the G forces that hang on the body seem to be considerable ones. However, there isn't a single scene where his face is distorted by the centrifugal forces, and it shows that he has an extraordinary adaptive strength toward gravity.
