Commentary
The episode that is packed with highlights, such as the emphasis on the scandal reports on the intense Basara, the first appearance of the newly awakened Protodevilun Barugo, and Gigiru, whose emotions are shaken by Basara's attitude and he sheds tears.
It's a series of mania dramas that leave truth in the lurch and heat things up, and it may have reflected the society at the time, which was talking about intense media attention. As Basara's blood relative, Ichijo Hikaru's name rises in equal to Lynn Minmei's in the intense media attention in the Macross 7 Fleet, and it is possible to infer that he also boasts a great name value in the story in 2045.
As a story, it skillfully composes the signs that the gossip paper journalist Janette is being influenced by Basara's songs and his stance, while taking turns with the aforementioned various elements. Especially in the last scenes, where it is revealed that Janette is Michael's younger sister, the source of the gossip was Michael, and that the gossip articles that fabricate the forbidden relationship between Gamlin and Basara are excellent as a punchline for the sequences of the story.

Topics: The Spread of E-Books
During the story, which is set in 2045, print media has almost completely turned digital, and is browsed on tablet terminals (pictured). On the other hand, the spread of tablet terminals had already begun in 2010 in the real world. In addition, e-books are also distributed using wireless transmissions. One could say that this very interesting example is reality overtaking an SF setting that was depicted in a drama in 1995.
Incidentally, in the 2009 setting of the movie "Do You Remember Love" (released in 1984), Vanessa and the others read paper periodicals that reported the gossip on Minmei and Hikaru.

Topics: Barugo's Familiars
The familiars that Barugo brings forth are life-forms that are made based on his spiritia energy. Barugo uses them and they perform independent actions. As they have a substance that is close to mere energy, they have the feature where physical attacks don't apply to them. However, they are fragile toward attacks that affect spiritia, like a sound wave, and they disappear when they are bathed in Basara's Song Energy.
