Commentary
The episode where Gigiru's frame of mind toward Basara greatly changes. During the episode, Basara and Gigiru mutually cooperate, and endeavour to rescue Sybil while displaying something like a strange friendship. Coupled with the depiction of Basara, who suffered because he stopped singing these last few episodes, a great catharsis was able to be obtained with the enthusiastic singing of Basara and Gigiru, which is also the subtitle of the episode, just before the hot development of the climax when Sybil -who had fallen into a predicament- awakens. In addition, it has been three episodes since the 33rd episode, when Basara last sang songs in the series (excluding such things as flashback scenes).
Also, at the beginning, one can see the form of Gamlin and others growing accustomed to camping. In the 35th episode, they went through a bitter experience being attacked by wild animals in a defenceless camp. They put the lessons to good use in this 36th episode, and while Mylene sleeps, armed Gamlin watches the open-air fire, and they adopted the self-defence plan against wild animals by playing the radio.

Topics: The Jamming Birds' Second Term Cadets
The Jamming Birds and the new cadets, 13 people in all, participate in basic physical strength training. When one considers that there were 6 first term members, the Jamming Birds now have a scale more than double that, and it is possible to infer the power that Burton puts into the project. In addition, the first term members that make up the lead group, who are seen running to the best of their abilities, seem to have physical strength itself on their side.

Even though Chie Kajiura being assigned the voice in scenes where Mylene sings was a general rule in "Macross 7", in the scene where the Song Energy Detector is made to react while searching for Basara, Mylene's voice actor, Sakurai Tomo herself sang. In addition, besides being in charge of the vocals of all the songs in the Lynn Minmei cover song album "Mylene Jiinasu Sings Lynn Minmei", Sakurai Tomo announced songs in the Mylene role in live performances in the name of "Macross 7".
