Commentary
An episode packed with valuable information whereupon one can peruse the world view of the Macross series, starting with the history of ruin where the Protoculture walked, the relatedness of the Zentraadi and Evhil Series that they created, and the secrets associated with the Protodevilun. From the words and deeds of the unusually verbose Exsedor and Geperunicchi, one can perceive that as far as both camps are concerned, the Protoculture Ruins will influence the state of war, and it is an exceedingly important location. In the battle concerning those ruins, the barrier around the ruins defends against the power of Gurabiru's Pentacle Beam, which far surpasses that of the Macross Cannon, and it was possible to catch a glimpse of a fragment of the Over Technology by the Protoculture.
Also, we would like you to notice Gamlin, who could finally call Mylene by her first name in the 37th episode. The fact that it required about nine months in time in the series from the meeting of the two, remarkably reveals the human nature of too serious Gamlin. Thus, even though it is little by little, it is pleasing to see that their relationship is steadily progressing.

Topics: Protoculture Letters
Although Protoculture ruins and language appear during this series, the City Space Ship Arutira, a similar ancient relic, appeared in the movie "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?". In it, Hayase Misa deciphered some of the Protoculture language. Not only Exsedor, but scholars and commissioned officers with vast insight appear to be able to read and understand the language.

Topics: Exsedor's Hands
The "Macross 7" Exsedor took over his design from the movie "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?", and his hands were tentacle shaped manipulators. This was an optimization to efficiently operate devices when he conducted information analysis as a staff officer. In addition, In the TV series "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", he had normal hands and fingers.
