Commentary
The episode that presses on Mylene's charm in the interaction with her fan, the young boy Billy. Although the boy Billy has a strong backbone, and is said to have lost both of his parents 3 years ago and lives all alone, from the words and deeds of Billy, who completely doesn't feel that darkness, one can perceive that Mylene's songs and existence have become a big support for him. Also, from the fact that he bought and sold up-close peeping pictures, also comes to reveal the extent Mylene's idol-like visual aspect's popularity. Even though Mylene tends to hide herself in front of Basara's overwhelming charisma, from these depictions, it's understood once more that Mylene also has a large influence on fans in various forms.
In addition, coming after the Factory Ship Three Star, which appeared in the 39th episode, the Farm Ship Sunny Flower, which is one of the accompanying ships in the Macross 7 Fleet, becomes the stage of the story in this episode. The spotlighting of the accompanying ships is tied together with the effect of digging more deeply into world of the "Macross 7" series.

As a unique ship in the Macross 7 Fleet that provides food, the Sunny Flower bears the burden of being both the cultivation plant and stockpile warehouse of agricultural produce. Its vast artificial grasslands has been transformed into ranches, and stock raising is carried out there. The ship is also completed with resort facilities, such as camp facilities and a zoo. As it is equipped with hardly any armaments and is located in the tail end of the fleet, it was easily occupied by Gabiru in this episode.

Although it ended in the attempt on Basara this time, there are a lot of episodes within the Macross series about prisoners. Ichijo Hikaru and two others in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", Hibiki in "Macross II", Myung in "Macross Plus", Sara in "Macross Zero", and Ranka in "Macross F" were each captured by the enemy side.
