Commentary
The "Macross 7 Encore" was individually released on LD and VHS about three months after the end of the TV broadcast. This episode was recorded in that encore, and is one of the two episodes that wasn't telecast on TV. In addition, even though this episode -which was published after the end of the TV broadcast- doesn't state its chronological order in the series, it isn't necessarily a sequel to the series.
In the episode, a story is told concerning the past of three members of Fire Bomber -excluding Mylene- and how they met. Although it was possible to touch upon what became this episode during the story of "Macross 7", the meeting of Rei and Basara came to be depicted with even more detail, such as a declaration of the lines that were spoken when Rei invited Basara to join him. Also, such things as an allusion to even Viheeda's unknown past -where she defeats the man that she once loved with her own hands-, and showing even more of Miho and Sally's close private lives, the episode came in a form that more deeply delved into the relationships of the characters that appeared in the series.

Topics: The VF-11C Made Into A Kit
The 1/100 scale VF-11C kit that was introduced in the TV commercial incorporated into the drama is a VF made into a kit in the world of the "Macross 7" production, as well as the real world, and it enables an inference of the ordinary sales [in universe]. Topics: Basara's Guitar
Basara continued to sing single handedly from his youth with a guitar. Even though he often played an electric guitar for live performances after forming Fire Bomber, he used an acoustic guitar -which he seems to have basically used from his younger days- for such things as composing music by himself. In addition, when he left on a journey in "Macross Dynamite 7", he carried a retro-shaped guitar.
