Story

Commentary The last episode, which is packed with highlights, such as the all-out-war between the Patrol Corps and the Poaching Group, the Galactic Whales that return to the planet Zola graveyard, and all the more so, the reconciliation between parent and child Graham and Liza. In particular, the session by Basara and the Galactic Whale just before the climax markedly reflects the universal theme of the various Macross series: "interchange with another species through song". We'd also like you to notice that "Angel Voice", which was used in the scene, is the only song that Youko Kanno worked on composition and arrangement in the "Macross 7" series.
Also, several gimmicks are incorporated into the episode aimed at fans of the series. The standing signboards of Basara and Mylene that Rei prepared using pictures of "Macross 7" at the time, seeing the features of the facial part of the VF-19P that's been bathed in the White Galactic Whale's pollen and gives the impression of the former Fire Valkyrie, and the detailed material that makes one spontaneously smile.

Topics: The Colours Of The VF-22S @
The VF-22S that Gamlin rides is an aircraft developed based on the YF-21 prototype that was formerly developed for Project Super Nova. In the final phase of the Varohta Campaign, two were prepared as Max's personal aircraft (they were coloured light blue). Also, Miria forcibly borrowed one of those two aircraft, and repainted it red. In this way, each ace pilot's personal colour was reflected in the aircraft's colour. Gamlin's VF-22S was also customized in black, which also represents him.

Topics: Fire Bomber After That
After the planet Zola affair, Basara, who spurred on the VF-19P and rushed out into space, didn't return to the Macross 7 Fleet, and left on a long odyssey going around the new galaxy. As they didn't know Basara's whereabouts, Fire Bomber virtually stopped their activities. Basara didn't return to the fleet even for the reunion album "Re.Fire!!" (pictured), which was published in 2060, 15 years after their debut; and the album consisted of sessions via the Galaxy Network. Also, the members separately perform individual musical activities, such as Mylene's activities as a solo singer.
