The story depicts the deepening interaction of the three people, although they are bewildered by the extraordinary things which suddenly visit them, and the pattern of their love, in which Aruto places a central role. Also, the expectations and conspiracies of various people surrounding the Vajra, intertwine both inside and outside of the fleet. Although the three of them are involved in the conspiracies, they found out on their own what ought to be done, and walk down the road that they personally believe in...

Front

Opening Clip
The opening clip from the first to the sixteenth episode used the main theme song "Triangular" as the film credits. While including a VF-25F sortie scene that closely resembles that of the VF-1J takeoff sequence in the opening of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", it describes from the main characters to certain notice of Aruto and Brera, all in one breath.

"Triangular"
Song: Sakamoto Maaya
Song Lyrics: Gabriela Robin / Composition / Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Ending Clip
The ending clip used for the second to sixth, eighth, ninth, and fourteenth episodes. It integrated static art scenes that centred on the streets and scenery within the Macross Frontier, and Sheryl's representative song "Diamond Crevice" is used as the music.

"Diamond Crevice"
Song: Sheryl Nome starring May'n
Song Lyrics: hal / Composition / Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Episode 7 Ending
A special ending that synchronizes with this episode's story, and the harmonic that Brera played in the last scene of the seventh episode leads into the song without change.

"Aimo"
Song: Ranka Lee = Nakajima Megumi
Song Lyrics: Gabriela Robin / Composition / Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Episode 11 Ending
Ranka's debut song "Cat Diary" is used as the ending theme, and a special version of the ending clip is matched to the song. Watercolour paintings are used to visualize her ordinary scenery.

"Cat Diary"
Song: Sheryl Nome starring May'n
Song Lyrics: hal / Composition / Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Episode 12 Ending
The clip is made in the form of extending the shocking last scene of this episode, where the first generation model Macross ship appears. Ranka singing "Do You Remember Love?" is used for the song.

Front

The Second Stage Opening
The new opening clip used for the 18th to 24th episodes of "Macross F". "Lion" was used as the song, and as it has the theme of a "love triangle", just like "Triangular", which was used in the first stage opening, they had the idea to stud even the clip with triangle marks. The Battle Frontier's Storming Attack form appeared first in this clip.

"Lion"
Song: May'n / Nakajima Megumi
Song Lyrics: Gabriela Robin / Composition: Kanno Youko

17th Episode Version
It was used only for the 17th episode. Due to the release of the CD, the opening clip was hurriedly produced as a surprise, because fans had been expecting the new opening song to be "Lion" at the pre-broadcast stage

"Interstellar Flight"
Song: Ranka Lee = Nakajima Megumi
Song Lyrics: MatsumotoTakashi / Composition and Arrangement: Kanno Youko

The Second Stage Ending
The new film credits that were used for the 16th to 18th, and 22nd to 24th episodes. It boldly mixed such things as live footage, where the singer May'n lively moved, and illustrations of Sheryl. May'n's hand, which was filmed in silhouette (upper row, center), imitates an aircraft.

"Northern Cross"
Song: Sheryl Nome starring May'n
Song Lyrics: Gabriela Robin / Composition and Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Episode 15 Version
"Diamond Crevasse" was used in the 15th and 20th episodes, which was the main ending theme for the first term. The song that was used in the 15th episode in particular was also changed to the song name "~50/50", because it was a special version with a Ranka and Sheryl duet. The 15th episode was arranged from clips from the 7th episode, and the 20th episode had a processing where it was linked to that episode's scenes where Michael was killed in battle.

Down: the 20th episode "Diamond Crevasse"

"Diamond Crevasse 50/50"
Song: Ranka Lee = Nakajima Megumi / Sheryl Nome starring May'n
Song Lyrics: hal / Composition / Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Episode 19 Version
The old opening theme was adopted a second time for the ending of the 19th episode. Despite heavily using still pictures that slide by the film credits, the clip was a specially made one, with multicoloured triangle marks slowly moving around inside each shot. In the 25th and last episode, the "Triangular On Stage" version that Ranka and Sheryl sang was used, in a form that adorned the epilogue of the episode.

"Triangular"
Song: Sakamoto Maaya
Song Lyrics: Gabriela Robin / Composition and Arrangement: Kanno Youko

Down: the 19th episode "Triangular"

Down: the 25th episode "Triangular Fight On Stage"

Episode 21 Version
A special version ending that was only used for the 21st episode. The visuals of such things as the characters, which centred on Ranka, were projected onto the fluctuating water surface one after another. The last shot brought it to a finish with a newly drawn visualization of Ranka.

"Blue Ether"
Song: Ranka Lee = Nakajima Megumi
Song Lyrics: Sakamoto Maaya / Composition and Arrangement: Kanno Youko

"F 00D: Macross F (Frontier) Eyecatches." Macross Chronicle Revised Ed.. 08 Jul. 2014: 19-20.

Front

"Macross F" Eyecatches
The Eyecatches for each episode of "Macross F" weren't all a mere single image, but were ideas that changed the screen somehow or another. For instance, the VF-0 that was in the background in the tenth episode changes to a VF-25, when the movie clapper-board shot was inserted and completely changed the picture (refer to the Topics column on the tenth episode sheet). These Eyecatches were basically projected when the episode's B part started. In addition, Eyecatches weren't prepared for the seventh, and twenty second to twenty fifth episodes.
