Commentary
This is the time that depicts the large decisive battle of S.M.S. with the Vajra. The Macross Quarter transforms for the first time to Storming Attack Form, and the Konig Monster also genuinely takes an active part for the first time in this episode. The episode is a real pleasure and is fully loaded with "Macross" mechanical SF, like the sortie of the VF-25S in an Armour Pack, and the VF-25F, VF-25G, and RVF-25 in Super Parts, in addition the QF-4000 embark accompanying the RVF-25. Also, the emotional depiction of the battle scenes in distant space side-by-side with Sheryl's concert is a memorable development that mutually connects space between Aruto and Sheryl via her earrings. There are also many depictions that occur again and again from now on, such as the first clear appearances of Richard Birla and Brera Sterne,* who are important characters, and Mishima, who utters "at last..." when he sees the Vajra Carrier.

* Translator's note: errata. Originally was: "such as the first appearances of Richard Birla and Brera Stern".

Topics: The Macross Galaxy
The Macross Galaxy, which is introduced at the beginning of this episode, is an encapsulated chemical plant. The fleet departed the Earth several years before Frontier, and several large companies invested and built it as the 51st fleet. It takes pride in its high technology strength in cybernetics and implants, which is unparallelled by others. Also, it is the hometown that Sheryl was born and raised in.

Topics: The Transformation To Storming Attack Form
The transformation of the Macross Quarter to Storming Attack Form first appears in this episode. Even though they suffered losses within the SDF-1 when suddenly transforming to Storming Attack Form in the first "Macross" series, a system check has been prepared beforehand in the Macross Quarter, where objects and crew don't move unnecessarily when transforming, and the bodies of Kathy and others are abruptly restrained in the transformation.
