Commentary
Aruto's colleague Michael is the lead actor this time, and the episode tells about his strong bond with his childhood friend Kuran, and his sad past concerning his deceased elder sister Jessica. On the other hand, Aruto's words, deeds, and troubles are carefully described. At the beginning of the episode, Michael smoothly tells his companion Grace that his close companions call him Michele, and this nonchalant preparation also skillfully flows to Aruto calling him "Michele" for the first time, in the later half of the episode. Also, the truth of Jessica's accidental shooting isn't clearly revealed, and how to apply the episodes conclusion, which is devoted to Michael's mind, leaves deep lingering memories in the heart of the viewer to the last. We would like you to also heed the depiction of Ranka, who some way or another manages to make her genuine singing debut amid various hindrances, and Sheryl and others, who, during a call with Aruto, revealed her past face that so far she hadn't attended school.

Topics: Kuran's Readiness
Kuran told Nene and Raramira, who where melancholic for battling the Vajra day after day after day, that compared to their Zentraadi predecessors, who fought as brethren comrades, the girls were continuing to do that all along. This might be something that has its origin in the tracks of the actions of Buritai and others in the first "Macross" production. Kuran studied the history in her own way, and its possible to infer her thoughts on the significance of the battles. In some way, it's possible to say that she was also a child sent from heaven to answer the prayers of Earth's culture.
Topics: Battroid Character Drama
Michael was slapped by Kuran. Even though it's a scene that only exists in romantic dramas, performing such a quintessential human drama in Battroid is a strangeness of the "Macross" productions. Although the story itself is serious this time, when Michael, the person who was scolded by Kuran, sits as-is in the cockpit, calmly thinking about it as the Battroid rubs its cheek, the scene invokes a strangely pleasing feeling. It's possible to observe this sort of depiction in such scenes as when Hikaru is heartbroken from witnessing Minmei's kiss and his VF-1S trudges wearily in a cold wind in the 23 episode of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross". While it depicts advanced SF and a serious war and youthful drama, one of the biggest charms of the "Macross" series is that humorous drama is sprinkled into it somewhere.
