Commentary
This is an important piece, which emphasizes Ranka's feelings for Aruto, bound together with her basking in the limelight in a single bound. Simultaneously, this episode's keyword, "the filming of a movie within the show" is an idea which, as far as "Macross" fans are concerned, causes heavy ideas with the action movie "Little White Dragon", which was in the 21st episode of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", and the TV documentary-drama "The Lynn Minmei Story", which in the 11th episode of "Macross 7". The motif of depicting the movie "Bird Human -The Birdman-" in this episode, is the "Mayan Island Incident", which happened in 2008, and was told in the OVA "Macross Zero". Such things as Sheryl's background are included in this episode, and there is a close-up on the existence of "Macross Zero", which has a deep relationship with "Macross F". In addition to that, one cannot overlook the links to the successive generations of series which are sprinkled everywhere, such as the elements from "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross" (Miranda Merin is Jamisu Merin's granddaughter), and the elements from "Macross Plus", the hydra creature that attacked Ranka is a creature imported from planet Eden).

[M] The grandmother of Miranda Merin, who was the staring actress in the in-drama movie "Bird Human -The Birdman-", is the actress Jamisu Merin (picture foreground), who appeared in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", competing with Lynn Minmei for the Miss Macross position. Even though Miranda shone in the Miss Macross Frontier laurels, which differed with Jamisu, who consequently handed the Miss Macross position to Minmei (3rd from the picture foreground), she seems to have inherited Jamisu's arrogant character, from the extent of it that was seen in her behaviour toward Ranka.

A special eye-catch for this episode's B part was prepared, where it completely changes from a clip with the "Macross Zero" logo set in it, to a scene with the "Macross F" logo set in it. The presentation of CG conversion processing, which was in Luca's explanation in the show, is an idea that is fully loaded with the desire to play.
