Commentary
The piece that's set in the Gaul 4 insurrection. Although the "33rd Marine Corps" that appears in this episode are a New Unified Forces Zentraadi corps, the episode says that the corps is an unstable one, where one cannot manage either the moderate faction, which has adapted to Earth's culture, nor the radical faction, which refuses culture and prefers combat. In this episode, even the executive officer of the moderate faction talks about how his feelings get worked up at the premonition of combat; and even though there's the fighting instinct that's characteristic of the Zentraadi, which has been depicted from the "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", one can surmise that it crosses over and is inherited by the different generations and factions of Zentraadi. This is the episode that gets to the bottom of the racial portrait of the Zentraadi in the "Macross F" period, and incorporates abundant depictions suited to old Macross fans. In addition to that, the last scene with a close-up of the rusting away first generation model Macross warship with the cover of "Do You Remember Love?" sung by Ranka running through it, also leaves a vivid impression.

Topics: The War Adherent's Love Of Carrots
Temujin, who is this episode's key man, is a soldier with features that closely resemble those of the Zentraadi Kamujin, who appeared in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross". At the beginning, he referred to the "Seven Colour Carrots", the giant Zentraadi local speciality vegetable that Ranka did business PR for in the 8th episode of this series. He seems to have eaten them raw.

Topics: The Radiance That Sparkles Like The Galaxy
While singing "Interstellar Flight", Ranka twice showed a wink mixed with the "Kiraa " motion at intervals in the song. In a direction that gathers in the so-called "moe", the scene where heart marks sprout one after another in the eyes of the Zentraadi soldiers is a highlight of this episode. General Director Kawamori Shouji and the other production staff, who also included the idea of stars set into the screen, said that it was refreshing producing a Deculture cut of the scene.

Topics: The Equipment Of The Zentraadi Forces
The designs for the 33rd Marine Corps soldiers emulated the setting information for the Zentraadi Forces in the old series, and Mikimoto Haruhiko is credited for the design drafts in the ending. In addition to the general soldiers of the moderate faction wearing the "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross" version and the general soldiers in the radical party wearing the "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Do You Remember Love?" version, Temujin had visuals that looked like it combined those of Kamujin from both productions.
