Commentary
The episode that has a premonition of the following great change in key; with such things as the existence of the Galaxy Fleet leaders, who are behind Grace, being depicted in a clearer form, in addition to S.M.S.'s Birla becoming genuinely involved in the story. Part of the episode uses clips from old episodes (mainly the 1st, 5th, 7th, and 12th episodes), and it is composed to reintroduce the viewer to the entire story so far, in the form of the conversation between Grace and the other leaders, and Aruto, Sheryl and Ranka talking about their recollections. Therefore, even though its content is produced as a "highlights"-like idea, roughly half of the whole episode is new clips. In particular, the new cut where Sheryl sings in the hospital is also a singing scene that amounts to her first since the 7th episode.

Topics: The YF-24 Variable Fighter
The YF-24 Variable Fighter that appears in a diagram in this episode is the prototype that was produced in mind for the mass production of the VF-24 "Evolution", for the purpose of exceeding the performance of the VF-19 - which appeared in such series as "Macross 7". The VF-24 design that was created was given to the Frontier and Galaxy Fleets, and they advanced the development of the VF-25 Messiah and VF-27 Lucifer by the military and corporations, which are respectively stationed in each fleet, using the VF-24 design as the model.

Topics: Macross Frontier's Weekly Magazine
"Frontier Weekly", which was held in hand by Sheryl in her sickbed, is a weekly magazine that takes up various pieces of Frontier news, in accordance to the magazine's name. It differs from the newspapers and so on that appeared in "Macross 7", which were paid subscriptions that used dedicated electronic terminals, and Frontier Weekly's appearance looked like a very normal magazine.

Caption: Continuing from the closeup of Brera's face, Ranka's appearance on Gaul 4 is projected on the cover. In addition, it automatically updates to a closeup of her face.
