Commentary
The episode where the everyday in the series continues to collapse through the deaths of Michelle and Howard, and the great damage to the Frontier Fleet. And then Ranka leaving in front of Aruto further spurs on that collapse. The insides of Ranka, who continues to stand in the interval between mankind and the Vajra, finally meets its limits here, and her subsequent actions when she heads toward the Vajra Homeworld becomes the spring in the climax. In addition, "I loved you", Ranka's last words, is a phrase that appeared in the preview for the "Deculture Edition" advance broadcast of the 1st episode in December, 2007, and was finally used here in this episode. The appearance of Luca, who rushes around due to his wholehearted love for Nanase; and Klan, who reminisces on Michelle and fights the Vajra, deepens the story's gloom, and Mishima, who finally obtained power, combined with the depiction of the suggestive Grace, enhances the tension toward the climax that follows hereafter.

Topics: Klan With The VF-25G Equipment
Klan's equipment when she became a giant Zentraadi (Meltrandi) soldier is the set that was used as Michelle's beloved VF-25G's Super Part enhancement equipment (illustration on the right). The built-in multi-warhead pod Booster Units were worn on her shoulders by using a kind of joint part. With them, Klan was also able to conduct a dog fight with high-speed flight. Her hand-held weapon was the 58 mm Howard GU-17 New Model Gun Pod that is commonly used by the VF-25.

Topics: The Fierce Fighting In Island 3
Island 3, which was sacrificed in the Vajra Extermination Operation, was the Plant where mainly Zentraadi people lived, and the main occupations in it were agriculture and sightseeing related ones. Inversely proportioned to the size of the residents, the population was somewhat below that of the other Plants. For that reason, Mishima considered it possible to My-clonize the citizens that were evacuated, and accommodate them in the other Environment Ships. As expected, Zentraadi appear to be the main constituent of the New Unified Forces guard soldiers in it, and the appearance of them fighting in the vicinity of Kuran can be confirmed during the Vajra counterattack in this episode.

Topics: Luca Becomes Fearless
Luca's hatred of the Vajra becomes stronger when they inflicted serious injuries on Nanase, and he still continues to associate behind the scenes with the Mishima sect, an aspect that is close to that of the role of a villain. From this 21st episode, the drawings of his facial expressions are a little changed, and his childish circle-like cheek expressions like he had before (lower picture: when he first appeared in the 1st episode) disappear. Luca has fallen in love, come into contact with the other side of politics, and is tired of the world and the expressions on his face, which consist of an adult-like fearless atmosphere, continue as-is up to the final episode.

Preview of the Next Episode
Ranka sets off on a trip. It results from dissonance. There are people who disobey. There are people who come into contact. Next time, "Northern Cross", the song of lips resounds in the galaxy.
