Commentary
A hybrid rock anime that crossed over the space-time of the two great TV series titles "Macross 7" and "Macross F", and fulfilled a miraculous collaboration. As a commemorative production in the 30th anniversary project of the birth of the Macross series, which unfolded in 2012, "Macross FB7 Listen To My Song!" was event screened at nation-wide theatres.
The contents are composed of reediting of the "Macross 7" clips after remastering, added to new "Macross F" clips. Even though the form is close to a general edit of "Macross 7", the perusing of the series history is very interesting as "Macross FB7 Listen To My Song!" shows Fire Bomber's situation, the treatment of the Varohta Campaign by the New Unified Forces, and a glimpse of the Protodevilun after they started on their journey in 2059 -the setting of "Macross F".
Also, it can certainly be called a suitable 30th anniversary production, with a completely new live performance collaboration that exceeds and spreads out the borders of the production, together with the first new Fire Bomber song in about three years; and taking pride in the beauty of its highlight clips. An "Ita-VF" also appears among those clips -which is painted with the figures of Sheryl and Ranka-; and the latest trends in the character/sub-culture industry can be perceived influencing this production.

While some of the ornaments and colouring produce a Fire Bomber-like emulation, the Lovely Bomber costumes simultaneously pursue originality. Michael in the Basara role and Canaria in the Viheeda role have a costume composition that's pretty close to the originals. On the other hand, in contrast with Mylene's leotard style costume, Kuran has a bikini type of costume. And Miina, excluding the colouring and gender difference, her design is greatly different from Rei's costume.

Together with Sheryl and Ranka, the four members of Lovely Bomber performed in a live performance collaboration with Fire Bomber. Also, in "Theatrical Macross F - The Wings Of Goodbye", they saw combat and a great scuffle in their musical performance as Ranka's backing band in the Island Alcatraz Sympathy Call Live Performance, and admirably served as a decoy in order to rescue Sheryl.
