Story
At the beginning of the 2090's, when the fight between Earth's mankind and the Zentraadi was in the distant past, the Earth suffered the attack of the Marduk Forces. Entertainment reporter Kanzaki Hibiki, who was covering that battle, took the Song Shrine Maiden Ishtar from the enemy ship. Due to coming into contact with Earth's culture for the first time, various songs, and interaction with Hibiki, Ishtar held doubts toward the fight of the Marduk, which seems to have been to destroy all civilizations. On the other hand, Hibiki felt enraged toward the state of the Unified Forces, who hid the truth and averted their eyes from the Earth's crisis, and he opposed the war with the cooperation of the Unified Force's Sylvie Geena.

Caption: Due to meeting Ishtar, Hibiki started fixing his eyes on the role that reports play in the fight, and with Sylvie Geena he gropes for the way to conclude the war. Also, in accordance with her own feelings, Ishtar entrusts hope to the songs of Earth.

Front

Opening Clip
It starts from the Valkyrie II that is piloted by the heroine, First Lieutenant Sylvie Geena, launching from a gantry, and cuts over to a shot of the hero, Kanzaki Hibiki, running. With the appearance of one more heroine, Ishtar, this opening is brought to a finish while the Valkyrie II and enemy Gigameshu entangle in a great battle. The forceful visuals and action that were handled by the talented animator, Obari Masami, became a topic of conversation among fans.

Ending Clip
The ending is fixed on the main visual of Ishtar, who is sleeping in the serene silence of space. As the endings of the various "Macross" series are made on the keynote of "quiet", this series doesn't deviate from that custom.
