Commentary
[Released] 8 years after "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?". The long awaited Macross sequel is a story set 80 years after the founding "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross". Although the first episode inherits elements from the preceding series, it is fully loaded with elements that give an impression of a new era, such as the Macross, which stands on the ground like a monument of the great war, the activities of the new models of Valkyries, and the anti-Zentraadi "Operation Minmei" being put into operation. Also, the hero Kanzaki Hibiki's approach toward journalism is also carefully depicted in contrast to that of the heroine Silvie Geena, the SNN producer, and Dennis Lone. In contrast, the depiction in small amounts of the new enemy, the Marduk Forces who accompany the Zentraadi, and the enigmatic girl Ishtar who belongs to the them, gives this episode a high degree of completion that strongly fuels interest in the continuing story in the next episode.
