Commentary
The episode that has the depiction of the connection between Hibiki and Ishtar as its main axis. In this second episode, Director Yatagai Ken-ichi is said to have concentrated the depiction on "Ishtar, who regards the destruction of alien cultures as sacred by the Marduk, notice that her way of life and way of thinking are wrong after coming into contact with the people of the Earth". This is clearer in her comparison to Fefu at the end of the episode, when Fefu, who stubbornly absolutely believes in the Marduk, demands Ishtar's return. When the upper echelon of the Marduk knew of the loss of the singing shrine maiden, they were distressed by their perilous situation, and they took it upon themselves to commit a forced plan where they fall to Earth. The episode is one where the tendencies of each character is prominent, with Ishtar playing a leading role. Also, in the mechanic aspects, we would like you to notice the activities of the VF-2JA Icarus Variable Fighter, which appears in the series for the first time.

Hibiki invited Ishtar into his own room. He seemed to be able to speak some of the words of the clan of giants, and he was able to convey his thoughts to Ishtar. However, notwithstanding Hibiki's ability, the existence of automatic translation devices seems to have been indispensable to carry out the perfect communication of intentions. Even though the device is about as small as the tip of a finger, the languages of their mutual planets is analyzed and translated in real time.

Hibiki's friend Mashu appears in this episode. Even though he is a cheerful, good-natured person, he also has a shrewd side, such as when he demands money when transporting Ishtar to Hibiki's room. In contrast to the androgynous Mash role, voice actor Kusao Takeshi made an enthusiastic performance that had the desire of wanting to turn Mash into "a beloved character that is a relief in the midst of the tense appearance of the world".
