Commentary
In the final episode, mankind and the Marduk win peace from the despot Ingusu at the end of a fierce battle. The attack of Macross, and even more so, the Macross Canon, aren't effective against the great enemy Ingusu's ship, and via battle scenes that are fully loaded with highlights -such as the decisive battle on the Earth itself and the activation of the Macross-, the story concludes in the form where the Marduk Forces themselves are tied to their destiny, and the politics of fear are repudiated. Although the relationship between the Boat Of The Alusu and the Macross finishes as-is halfway in the grey of the morning, it doesn't depend on the power of legendary divine possession, and an assent also takes place, if one considers it to be a story where a civilization is acquired, which continues into the future due to the personal determination and agonizing of both the Earth and the Marduk. The standpoint of the protagonist Hibiki, who is a reporter, entrusting peaceful video recordings to Ishtar, beautifully finishes his role with the significance of assisting the future of the Marduk.

The Unified Forces' Destroid force in this production -the Monster II, the Phalanx (Kai), the Defender EX, the Tomahawk II, and so on-, ambush the Marduk Forces, who are invading the Earth itself. While they are all craft that inherited the pedigree of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", the mecha designs -which demonstrate their unique sense of existence- are fascinating. Such Destroids as the Monster II in particular are shown in the drama in the state of being transported to the front lines by Jet Helicopter. When the heavily equipped gigantic figures are operated, a very interesting mechanical depiction appears on the screen.
Topics: The No.2 Canon Base
The two Macross Canon that exist in the Unified Forces' Space Fleet depart from the giant No.2 Canon Base Space Station in this episode. Judging from its size and shape, which is guessed compared to the 6,000 m class Macross Canons, this base appears to be an isomorph to the Zentraadi Super Mobile Giant Fortress Furubusu Barensu Class that was Bodoruzaa's flagship in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross". It is conceivable that the human race captured the same type of Space Fortress, and transformed it into a space station for the battleships.
Topics: The Ending Of The Final Episode
The ending theme song of the last episode is a clip as well as a newly drawn special version of "Promise" (song: Kasahara Hiroko), that only appears this time. Its contents are the image recordings themselves that Hibiki gave to Ishtar at the end of this episode. All appear to be things that Hibiki himself photographed during the story, such as the daily life of Ishtar after she called on the Earth, and the mood of Sylvie and Ishtar pressing their shoulders against each other to commemorate the arrival of peace after defeating Ingusu. The significance is that Ishtar also looks at these same images somewhere in space.
