Commentary
The episode where Minmei's singing voice has an affect on the various standpoints of people, such as the upper echelons of the Zentraadi Forces; the soldiers at the extremities; Hikaru, Misa and the military personnel of the Macross; and Kaifun, who detests fighting.
The Zentraadi soldiers, who recognized that Minmei's songs "feel good", finally rose in revolt against the armed forces. On the other hand, Hikaru, who is conflicted on how to live as a soldier, sees Minmei's concert poster and finds the significance of protecting her. The conflicts of this Hikaru before long leads to his decision in the last episode to live as a soldier in order to protect Minmei and the townspeople.
Also, as far as Kaifun is concerned, Minmei's songs have become a weapon to oppose the "uncivilized fighting". Even though enemy Battle Pods appear at the concert venue, Kaifun requests that Minmei sing even more, and we would like you to notice that Minmei is in the process of being attracted to such a Kaifun's earnestness.

Topics: The Soldiers Who Made An Effort For Culture
A lot of general Zentraadi soldiers appeared and were struck with culture shock by coming into contact with Earth's culture in this episode. A lot of them didn't have set names, and they were handled to the extent that they only had facial line art. Among them, only Torakajiide was given a full body setting-bible image, probably because he bore an important role in this episode (the image on the right). Seeing his diminutive body and slender lines, he doesn't seem to have been for combat, but seems to have been a soldier that was produced to play the role of technician.

Topics: The Nuujaderu Gaa's Unexpected First Appearance
Even as a mechanical device from the Zentraadi Forces, the Nuujaderu Gaa is comparatively minor. It is known to be a fairly slow mecha, and even though its first appearance on screen is in the 27th episode, as a matter of fact, its name appears in the middle of this episode in the line "All Rigaado squadrons and Nuujaderu Gaa squadrons promptly move to the warship's bow" in the within-ship broadcast that ordered the mechanized units to move to the bow of Buritai's ship. Incidentally, just like the Nuujaderu Gaa, the Destroid Phalanx, which didn't have its turn until the 27th episode, also appeared only in name in "Phalanx Pearl Squadron", in Shammy's combat direction lines in the episode preceding this one (the 21st).

Preview of the Next Episode
Taking advantage of the surprise attack operation, the deserters - with the original group of three spies playing a leading role - sneak inside the Macross. Global, who was racking his brains over the twenty-three Zentraadi's requests for asylum, summons Hikaru, Misa, and Max, the people who had particular experience with contact with the Zentraadi.
Next time, "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", "Drop Out".
