Commentary
The episode that settles the relationship of Max and Miria, who has considered Max to be her rival since the 18th episode, in the surprisingly unexpected form of an interstellar marriage. The development where the mutual prodigious pilots of both camps pass from opponents to allies and marry, seems to be something uniquely distinctive of "Macross". And then Max and Miria's decision comes to decide the respective decisions of Global accepting the refugees and Buritai deciding to negotiate peace with the Macross. On the other hand, it pulls things to the path toward the final decisive battle in the 27th episode, with Bodoruzaa deciding to eliminate the Macross and the Earth. In addition, according to spots where Director Ishiguro later talked, the flashiness of the directing in the wedding ceremony was transmitted to the Zentraadi side in the TV break, and included the intentions of the Macross side, which are connected to peace. Global muttering "the interruption of the wedding may have been successful" when he saw the enemy fleet stop its general offensive in the last part of this episode, is due to such background events.

Topics: The VF-1D For The Wedding Ceremony
In Max and Miria's wedding ceremony, the couple boarded a VF-1D that was given a blue colouring, like that of Max's VF-1J. This two-seater model aircraft was made into a commodity as a VF-1D colour variation by Hasegawa, Yamato and so on. In addition, when it was entered into the wedding ceremony, the VF's head was exchanged for the VF-1A's head.

Topics: Warera And Others And The Three Girls
Even though it was Warera, Rory, and Konda who hoped to defect to the Macross in the previous episode, in this episode, they restarted with Shammy and the other three Macross bridge operators. When Global announced the acceptance of the refugees, they had a surprisingly intimate relationship, such as embracing each other in delight. In addition, According to the liner notes of the drama CD "Macross 7 Docking Festival: Songs Will Save The Galaxy", among the three operator girls, Vanessa seems to have married Rory after this. Also, Shammy married a different man, and Kim is said to have remained in the armed forces, and was still unmarried even at that point in time in 2045.
Topics: Young "Runner" Minmei Version
Minmei, who was invited as a wedding guest in this episode, sings "Runner", the ending theme song of "Macross". However, the "Runner" that she sings is an original one, that differs from the usual lyrics. "Because you started a journey today / you gently drew lipstick by yourself / dressed in a white veil / and looked forward to the time to sparkle". Those lyrics, which took the theme of a wedding, are considered to have been lyrics written for this episode. Incidentally, "Abako Creative Studio", where the post-recording of "Macross" took place, is within Waseda Services Garden (Shinjuku Ward). The wedding hall "Abako Bridal Hall" is also within the premises, and "The Wedding March" that flows in this episode is said to have used sourced sounds borrowed from that hall.
