Commentary
The episode that establishes the armistice between the Buritai Fleet and the Macross, and the set-up of the joint struggle against the Bodoru Main Fleet. In the story so far, only Buritai and Exsedor rationally dealt with the culture shock that shocked the Zentraadi side, and their determination was an important one. Although Exsedor's facial expressions when he touches Earth culture showing various reactions are a highlight of this episode, the carefully drawn pictures by Hirano Toshiki and others further enriched his expressions. We would like you to observe the casual directing of such things as Exsedor, who learnt the Earth "handshake" custom in the early stages, voluntarily presenting his hand for the handshake with Captain Global, who is the person he jointly struggles with in the latter half of the episode. The movements of the other characters who don't envision how things will turn out, such as the Unified Forces, who persistently try to use the Macross as a lure; Misa, who remained on Earth; and Kamjin, who parted company with Buritai; is tied together with the next episode's climax, which could be called the actual final episode in the feeling of tension.

Topics: Newcomer Squadron Member Matsuki
In this episode, Skull Squadron took the mission to escort the armistice envoy's Rigaado. At this time, the squadron's new member Matsuki mentioned, "what a strange feeling it is to escort an enemy pod," to Hikaru. Even though he wasn't particularly active, Matsuki, who first appeared in the 23rd episode, appears to have survived the First Interstellar War, and reappears in the 28th episode.
Topics: The "My Boyfriend's A Pilot" That Exsedor Sings
At the beginning of the armistice conference, Exsedor demonstrated "My Boyfriend's A Pilot" with a unique melody. In addition, within the drama CD "Macross 7 Docking Festival: Songs Will Save The Galaxy", Exsedor, who participated in the singing contest, still sings "My Boyfriend's A Pilot", and receives three bells for it. Apparently, that song has become one of his "repertoire".
Preview of the Next Episode
The five million ship fleet under Bodoruza's command completes the encirclement of the Earth. There was no longer a road to peace anywhere. Hikaru bids farewell to Minmei, and proceeds toward the final battle.
Next time, "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", "Love Flows".
