Commentary
The episode that restrains the action elements, and instead of that emphasizes the reciprocal flow of feelings between mankind. This modest pattern of love, where Misa is troubled with love, Claudia tells Misa about her memories with Fokker when she was young while watching over Misa, and Hikaru begins to be aware of his feelings for Misa, is said to be a drama that Kawamori Shouji wanted to have depicted from before the decision to extend the series. Even though the performance of Ohara Noriko in the Claudia role and Kamiyama Akira, who performed Fokker after a long time, was also smooth, what should be kept in mind at the same time is the episode direction with the rain, which falls incessantly from the middle to the end. It isn't a dreary image at all, and is a metaphor for the feeling of love of the two who were previously lovers, and enriches the hearts of the two whose love grows after this. In addition, mecha fans need to pay attention the experimental development pattern of the VF-X, which appears as an antecedent of the VF-1.

Claudia has been Misa's close friend for many years, and worries one way or another about Misa's relationship with Hikaru.
