Story
In 2040 A.D., the next main Variable Fighter development project "Super Nova" progressed on the planet Eden. Isamu Dyson, who was assigned as the YF-19's test pilot, reunited with his childhood friend Guld Goa Boaman. Guld was the test pilot of the competing YF-21. Concurrently, one more friend, Myung Fang Lone, visited Eden as the producer of the virtual singer Sharon Apple, who was popular throughout the galaxy. The three people who parted company due to a past event, now meet again on Eden...

Caption: Isamu and Guld, who broke off their friendship due to a past incident that concerned Myung, reunite as mutual test pilots, and begin competing for the seat of the next main Variable Fighter. On the other hand, the artificial intelligence Sharon, who became aware, before long runs wild and drags Myung et al into the thick of things.*

* Translator's note: in the original edition, it was: "On the other hand, the Unified Forces, who tried to adopt an unmanned craft as the next main fighter, caused the AI Sharon to run wild."

Character
Earth Unified Forces: Isamu Dyson

General Galaxy Co.: Guld Goa Bowman
An honest person who has a Zentraadi father and an Earthling mother. In addition to piloting, he is the owner of the talents needed to be good at designing Valkyries.

Civilian: Myung Fang Lone
A composed adult woman who acts as Sharon's producer. She used to love singing more than anything else, and was the idol of the school festival.

Influence chart

Mechanic
Shinsei Industry Co.: YF-19

A Variable Fighter that concentrates the best of Earth technology. It realized a high manoeuvrability within an atmosphere by using canards and forward-swept wings.

General Galaxy Co.: YF-21
A Variable Fighter that ambitiously introduced Zentraadi technology. It uses the BDI System, which enables the pilot to control the aircraft by brain waves.

Earth Unified Forces: Ghost X-9
An unmanned craft developed under the direction of Commander Higgins et al. It has a high-manoeuvrability that is impossible in manned craft, because it doesn't need to take the pilot into account when flying.
