Commentary
This production was released in the form that charged ahead of the release of "Theatrical Macross F - The Wings Of Goodbye", as music clips whose subjects were songs from "Macross F (Frontier)" and "Theatrical Macross F". It is a production that draws on the pedigree of the OVA "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Flash Back 2012", which was produced with the point of view of "Macross" = "music".
In addition to music clips, the content incorporates interviews with Sheryl and Ranka - the two great heroines of the "Macross F" series. The interviews of the two characters are organized in a form that's intertwined with the music clips, such as continuing with a clip that makes use of a cogwheel in "Universal Bunny" as soon as the cogwheel of the clock in "Sheryl Interview 1" is projected in close-up. One could say that this is like the musical term " a round", and one can consciously appreciate that, and it is surely a new way to enjoy the music clips.
Starting with the interviews, many completely new clips have been prepared for Nyan-Kuri, and even though drawn pictures from such things as the TV series have also been partially used, they have all been brushed-up upon with technology that was cutting-edge at the time.
The enclosed booklet incorporates play that considers former Macross fans, with the music business person Honey Suzuki, who appeared in "Macross 7", introducing Ranka's and Sheryl's songs.
As previously stated, this production is a music clip collection, and although a story doesn't exist in it, it's possible to say that it is a production that considers the conclusion of "Theatrical Macross F -The Wings Of Goodbye", with such things as the image of a paper airplane appearing at every turn, which is a metaphor for Aruto's existence.
