Commentary In this final episode, the illustrator Okama, who is famous for his unique sense of colour, had his name freshly added to the list as the designer of the "Birdman"'s awakened version, which presses on the human race with overwhelming force. The conspicuously divinely and ominously coloured Birdman, which he created, was certainly appropriate for the name of the god that administers destruction and creation.
Also, one is wide-eyed from the depiction of combat, which overflows with beautiful images and the feeling of lively motion, such as in the dogfight by the VF-0A and VF-0S Special Attack Assault Specification - which are loaded to the limit with armaments, that completely exhausts one's breath; and the masterpiece beam barrage that is fired by the Birdman, as if it is a giant sky fortress.
In addition, this series is strongly connected to "Macross F (* including the movie version)", in such things as the relationship of the Protoculture to the Vajra through the Birdman; Sheryl, who appears as Mao's granddaughter; and all the more the depiction of the Mayan Island disaster in a movie within the series. Especially the scene just before the end, that depicts Sara and the Birdman beginning a journey to space and parting with a lover, happens again in a similar manner in "Macross F The Movie ~ The Wings Of Goodbye~", with the image of Aruto, who began a journey with the Vajra Queen.

Topics: The Relationship Of The Birdman To The Vajra
The "Birdman" is a device that was left behind by the Protoculture to observe Earth's civilization. Regarding this "Birdman", when "Macross F" was later produced, because the Protoculture held religious faith in the Vajra, the setting was added where the Birdman was created modelled on the appearance of a Vajra Queen (pictured). By making an unexpected setting that crosses over the ages, the appearance of the world in the Macross series became even more extensive.

END

Topics: The Girlfriend That Roy Fokker Loved
Fokker was inwardly afflicted by a sense of isolation because of the death of old friends in the Unification War and the loss of his lover Aries in the Mayan Island disaster. Thereafter, although he seems to have appeased his loneliness by once more having a lot of love affairs, even though he isn't healed, he restarts his relationship with Claudia in the South Ataria Island base - he first met her in the Unification War era. Thus, Fokker, who was attracted to the motherhood of Claudia, continued thinking of her until the point of his death.
