An Anti-Unification Alliance soldier. The scars all over his body reveal his combat experience. Hassan led his troops onto Mayan Island in the mission to capture the "Bird Man". He joined Nora Polyansky—who had been shot down—detained the Unified Forces Shin Kudō, researcher Aries Turner, and island shrine maiden Sara Nome, and took them to Dr. Hasford.
A Battle-class Variable Stealth Space Attack Carrier that connects with the Macross Galaxy Fleet's Mainland. Even though it was attacked by the Vajra and was assumed to be missing, in reality it was going strong and was used by the Galaxy Fleet's powers-that-be—Grace O'Conner and the others—in the decisive battle of the Vajra Homeworld. It used the Sharon-model AI employing AIF-9V Ghost Unmanned Fighters as carrier-borne aircraft. The Battle Galaxy was destroyed in a wave of attacks by the Macross Quarter and the Battle Frontier.
A Battle-class Variable Stealth Space Attack Carrier. It is usually docked with the Macross Frontier Fleet's Island 1. As the fleet's flagship, it controls the Frontier Fleet's New Unified Forces. In addition, there are situations in which government functions are placed in the ship during emergencies, and the fleet's President takes direct command of the Battle Frontier.
An extra-large All-purpose Variable Stealth Space Attack Carrier—the combat section of the 13th New Macross Class ship. It is the trump card of the mutinying "Lactence" power within the New Unified Government, who were in a collusive relationship with the "Critical Path Corporation" military company. An extra-large All-purpose Variable Stealth Space Attack Carrier—the combat section of the 7th New Macross class Emigrant Fleet. Maximilian Jīnasu is the ship's captain. Normally the Battle 7 is used for such things as command, investigation, navigation, and defence while docked to City 7, and is operated separately when there is an emergency. It was seriously damaged at one time due to the Varōta War, but it has been restored.
The designation when a Variable Fighter is in its humanoid form. The "Battroid" is an armament that was originally developed making use of OTM and pursuing manoeuvrability and operational flexibility up to the utmost limits. After that, there is Fighter—the fighter aircraft form that resulted from the demand for air combat abilities—and the accidentally discovered GERWALK form, which is midway between the fighter aircraft and humanoid forms.
An event held in City 7 when it was separated from the Battle 7 during a manoeuvre by the Varōta Forces. The event was held on city land. It was a plan by Mayor Miria, who had said that they could use the event as a pretext to supply combat capable VFs and Destroids along with recruiting pilots from the citizens while there wasn't a Unified Forces to protect the city.
The main transport in the Varōta Forces. It has strong armaments, the combat capabilities of a destroyer, and has acceleration performance and Fold Navigation abilities that enable it to accompany the cruisers.
A young lady who is a fan of Fire Bomber. She has been an avid fan since before their major debut, and participates at their live performance venues holding different types of bouquets every time. However, she unfortunately always misses the opportunity to give the bouquet to Basara.
The musical producer and director who ran "Sweet Bellwood Office". He called himself "Honey". He was involved in the major debut of Fire Bomber. However, it seems that the sensibility of their songs didn't suit him, and he sold the rights to Akiko Hōjō of Akiko Lips Label.
An admiral in the Earth Unified Forces. Even though he was born into a military family that has lasted for over 100 years, he was a person who thought flexibly and boldly—such as disguising himself as the Anti Unification Alliance and plundering food from allies—in order to maintain the morale of his unit during the Unification War. However, Takashi underestimated the Zentrādi Forces during the First Interstellar War, considered peace to be out of the question, and did not break from his posture of determined resistance against them. Incidentally, his only daughter is Misa Hayase, the SDF-1 Macross's chief air traffic controller. In addition, Bruno J. Global, the Captain of the Macross, was also an old friend and former subordinate, and it seems that they were so close that Takashi introduced Global to his future wife, and even served as a matchmaker.
The SDF-1 Macross's chief air traffic controller. She is an elite who graduated from the military academy at the top of her class, and is a woman with a rigid military mentality for both herself and others. Misa is a close friend of Claudia LaSalle, who serves on the same bridge, and is admired by the junior bridge operators like an older sister. Although she was at odds with the pilot Hikaru Ichijō, they gradually became aware of each other as members of the opposite sex. Misa—having learned the truth of the enemy when she was taken prisoner by the Zentrādi Forces—made an effort to accept the Zentrādi asylum seekers. She left the Macross and landed on the Earth to find a way to peace, but couldn't persuade her father, an Admiral in the Earth Unified Forces. After the First Interstellar War, Misa worked together with the others in the reconstruction of the Earth as a prominent figure in the New Unified Government. In 2012, she departed with Hikaru on a trip into the galaxy as the Captain of the Super Long Range Emigrant Fleet Megaroad-01.
The chief air traffic controller serving on the SDF-1 Macross's main bridge. Misa is a straight-laced, talented woman. Due to the experience of losing her first love on the battlefield in the past, Misa was such a late bloomer when it came to love that her best friend Claudia LaSalle was worried about her. Although Misa was repulsed by Hikaru Ichijō—a pilot who did not keep discipline—she felt his kindness, and was fond of him. However, Lynn Minmei also had feelings for Hikaru, and they took on the aspects of a love triangle. Be that as it may, Misa was rewarded as his heart was already for her. Incidentally, she translated the lyrics on the plate they found in the Altira Protoculture ruins, and was the lead actor in the shadows when Lynn Minmei's song led to the end of the war.
A variant of the "Gurāji" Battle Pod. It was developed as a three-stage Variable Vehicle. While retaining the advantages of the Gurāji's great firepower, the Variable Gurāji could now conduct aerial combat without having to be equipped with a booster unit. Even though it was piloted by Moaramia Jifon—a Zentrādi girl—the Variable Gurāji was captured by the Unified Forces Special Forces Dancing Skull unit, and was deployed in that unit after being upgraded. Bariaburu Faitā. Abbreviated as VF, it refers to the transforming jet fighters. They are variable multipurpose aerospace fighters that use OTM and were initially developed as a humanoid weapon with a 10 m height for the purpose of combat and communication with [the alien] giants. Eventually, as a result of the demand for air combat capabilities, they were completed as variable vehicles based on fighter aircraft that transform into a humanoid.
The VF-1's pet name. The term later took hold as the nickname for all of the Variable Fighters.
The debut song of the Jamming Birds Musical Combat Unit. It was produced by Honey Suzuki, and is a popular song that incorporated his polices of "fashionability" and "performance".
One of Wendy Rider's songs—she is a worldwide idol singer. It is her representative song. The love song has such an attractive power that it nailed the Mardūk Song Shrine Maiden Ishtar to the TV screen when it ran in a TV commercial.
One of the Protodevilun. For unknown reasons, he was on very bad terms with Gabiru. The Ehvil that is his body is a Biological Tactical Reconnaissance Drone Command Unit with the ability to operate familiars. On Planet Rax, Barugo seemed to have been annihilated after being swallowed up in the onslaught that was released by the awakened Gigiru. However, Barugo was salvaged by Ivano Geperunicchi and resurrected as Natta-Barugo—who had a mechanical body.
The famous captain that led the 12th fleet. He is a natural-born soldier who valued pride more than his own life. He faced the Mardūk Forces in the orbit of Mars, and was defeated due to a greater-than-expected military power difference.
The ore mined on the frontier planet [where the Macross 7 Movie is set]. In 2045, they couldn't find it even after digging for 20 years. It seems to be an extremely rare mineral—to the extent that it brings about a wealth that can maintain a village even without being mined for a long period—and the villagers, who fear it being stolen from them, watch outsiders excessively.
The armed forces organized by the Protodevilun—who had been sealed away on the fourth planet of the Varōta 3198XE star system—to collect Spiritia. They started collecting Spiritia with their overwhelming military power. In 2045, they encountered and targeted the Macross 7 Fleet. The people who had emigrated to the Varōta Star System formed the base of the Varōta Forces, and they were all under the control of the Protodevilun via mind control. The Varōta Forces possessed equipment based on the weapons of the Unified Forces that had their own distinctive improvements applied to them while also incorporating a Spiritia absorption device.
The fourth President of the Macross Frontier Fleet. Howard is a moderate who puts the livelihood of the citizens first. However, he was assassinated by Leon Mishima—the President's Chief of Staff—who was the fiancé of his daughter Catherine Glass.
A collective of forces that opposed the Earth Unified Government. The reason for not having had accommodated the Unified Government varies according to the governmental power, such as ethnic conflicts or concessions due to OTM monopolies. They had OTM that was not inferior to that of the Unified Forces, and were engaged in local wars in various places—referred to as the Unification War. However, the Anti Unification Alliance rapidly weakened after the Bird Man Incident. Incidentally, when the Zentrādi attack on South Ataria Island was covered up, the Unified Government proclaimed that it was terrorism by remnants of the Anti Unification Alliance.
Great destructive energy is produced by theses thermonuclear reaction weapons, which use Heavy Quantum in their detonators. For that reason, the Galactic Treaty—concluded after the First Interstellar War—put restrictions on their use. Even though the initial Reaction Weapons seem to have had the potentiality of causing radioactive contamination, the weapons basically do not generate any residual radioactivity.
Special operatives from the Varōta Forces that lay concealed in City 7. They were referred to as "Vampires" in the fleet and were feared by the citizens. The special operatives were collecting Spiritia and conducting recovery experiments with it.
