The Valkyries That Appeared In Publications And Games
Even though the Macross series came to expand mainly in anime productions, some of it arrived in mediums such as games and publications, and original mechanics also exist in them.

Games And Publications Are A Treasury For Unknown Aircraft
Since Macross history began, mecha for it has been designed in great numbers. Among them, there are also many mecha that only appear in mediums other than anime, such as model magazines and comics. Even such slightly rare aircraft turn up in other places, like the VF-5000 and VA-3, which later appeared in "Macross Dynamite 7" (their first appearance was as rough sketches published at the same time in an anime mook); and it can be said that that is a flexible, interesting feature of the Macross series.

Related Matter: Original VFs Published In Publications
The "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Model World (Shogakukan Publishing), which was published at the time of the broadcast of "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross", carried original mecha, such as the Funny Chinese reconnaissance VF (design: Kawamori Shouji), in a book that Studio Nue supervised.

Super Dimensional Fortress Macross VF Experiment / Macross Zero VFERR
Designs published in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross VF Experiment", which was serialized in the magazine "Character Model" (Kadokawa Shoten Publishing), and its successor serialization, "Macross Zero VFERR". All were designed by Kawamori Shouji. Although a brief setting about the origins of the aircraft were written, such things as specific stories for them don't exist.

SW-XAI Schneeblume*
An air superiority fighter that was developed based on the required "SWX (Stealth Wing X)" specification, which the Unified Forces submitted at the time that the model conversion from the VF-1 to the VF-11 progressed, and the VF-17 entered its final testing stage. It was developed on a remodelled latter period VF-1 model parent body.

* Translator's note: German for "snow-flower"

SW-XAII Schneegans*
The SW-XAII is an air defence fighter aircraft developed based on a remodelled latter period VF-1 model originating in the "SWX", just like the SW-XAI. As its development was delayed more than the XAI, its engines and avionics are stronger ones than those in the XAI.

* Translator's note: German for "snow-goose"

VAL-0B (ABL equipped model)
An aircraft based on the the VF-0B, and equipped with an ABL (Airborne Laser) Turret. The turret, which is installed on the center of the fuselage in Fighter Mode, becomes the head in Battroid Mode.

Up: The rear of the fuselage (the backpack in Battroid) consists of the laser oscillation system (aiming and oscillation equipment and a chemical tank).

Here are the aircraft that appeared in the game that Family Soft published in the beginning of the 90's, and the game that Bandai Visual released in the latter half of the 90's.

The Aircraft That Appeared In The Haruhiko Mikimoto Comic Version

VF-1J (Macross The First)
Ichijo Hikaru's first favourite aircraft, which appears in the comic "Macross The First". The colouring is showier than that of the TV series VF-1J, and in Fighter Form the line on the surface of the fuselage connects with the main wings.

Down: The head design was newly done by Kawamori Shouji. Despite emulating the form of the original VF-1J, its image has been completely changed.

VF-1D (Macross The First)
The VF-1D that appears in "Macross The First". The head is a design done by Tenjin Hidetaka.

Up: from the rear

VF-4 (Macross 7 Trash)
It appeared in "Macross 7 Trash". It's an aircraft that was deployed to the training unit that Mahara Fabliau -the coach of protagonist Shiba Midou- once served as an instructor for.

Ghost (Macross 7 Trash)
An aircraft owned by Keleck Hoyer, Mahara's partner. It seems to be a Ghost QF-3000E remodelled into a manned aircraft.

Related Matter: Valkyries That Appeared In Games 2
Here are the craft that appear in PC Engine games "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross 2036", and "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross - Eternal Love Song", which were released by Messiah in 1992. Both productions jointly had content where Kamjin -who was alive- summoned other Flagship Fleets to Earth.

VF-1R
An aircraft configuration that is said to be an improved version of the VF-1. The transformation mechanism follows that of the Valkyrie, and the back Super Pack SPII is standard equipment.

Daedalus 2nd Generation
The Assault Landing Carrier that appears in "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross - Eternal Love Song". It is operated as the main characters' mother ship.

Zentraadi Mobile Weapons
The Zentraadi Battle Pods and Meltrandi Powered Suits that appear in the game.
