A part of the information that First Lieutenant Hayase and others brought back from Buritai's ship, is that the Zentraadi don't have maintenance and repair skills.* Even though the reason for that it is thought to have been that the Protoculture didn't give the Zentraadi related technology - as they were afraid of a Zentraadi rebellion -, it was related to the spy infiltration operation.

Related Matter: Buritai's Demotion
Even though it was Buritai who gave meritorious service as one of the commanders of the Bodoru Main Fleet, such as pursuing the Macross and capturing First Lieutenant Hayase and others, he took the blame for the escape of the people he captured, and was removed from front-line duty. After that, he returned to the front-line when it was time to recover the spies, and he performed a great role in concluding the peace agreement with the Macross, in February 2010.
