Lynn Minmei was the largest trump card in the decisive battle with the Bodoru Main Fleet. It was common knowledge that her songs had an intense impact as the Zentraadi lost their fighting spirit. Brigadier General Global, who was the captain of the Macross, carried out the "Minmei Attack", which broadcast Minmei's live performance to the battlefield, and disrupted the enemy. The enemy fleet was defeated, and it led to the conclusion of the First Interstellar War. One could say that her singing voice brought about this victory.

Caption: Minmei sung on a specially-installed stage. The songs didn't only disturb the enemy, they also exhibited results that killed two birds with one stone by greatly raising the morale of the friendly troops.

Even though Minmei is considered to be "pure", so to speak, the truth is that much noise was made at the time of her debut about her love scandals on a number of occasions. Her relationship with Ichijo Hikaru, who is a Unified Forces pilot, might be especially famous because there was a close-up on it in such things as biographical movies that depicted the First Interstellar War. Hikaru and Minmei, just the two of them, spent about two weeks survival living in a closed section of the Macross, and it's easy to imagine that they had an unusual relationship. Also, her relationship with Lynn Kaifun, who is her cousin, was enlivened by the media.* Even though there was a rumour that she was with Kaifun, as they co-starred in a movie at the time, he announced his marriage proposal to Minmei in the mass media, and created a stir in the world.
