VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie: the Deep Crimson Valkyrie that Resounded Songs in the Galaxy

Aircraft Explanation
The VF-19 Kai -commonly known as the Fire Valkyrie- is a modified craft that was operated as an advance trial craft at the time of the adoption of the official VF-19 in the Macross 7 Fleet. Contrasting the VF-19, which stresses controllability and stability, the VF-19 Kai is tuned based on an airframe balance near that of the prototype YF-19. The VF-19 Kai possessed the high-performance that the prototype YF-19 conceded when it was turned into the VF-19. In addition, what characterizes the VF-19 Kai more than the excellent airframe performance is that it is a design that took "singing" as it's main point. This craft, which is loaded with an acoustic system such as speakers and audio in order to transmit the passenger's songs, also has a side as a Song Energy verification craft. Thus, this craft was entrusted to rock group "Fire Bomber"'s vocalist Nekki Basara, and it demonstrated its real worth in the fight with the Protodevilun.

Laser Machine-Gun
A sensor fin extends rearwards from the top of the head. Also, although there are parts on the left and right of the head that resemble laser machine guns, they are also sensors. It's guessed that Basara had the equipment changed, as he hated the use of weapons.*

Launcher Pod/Speaker Pod
The VF-19 Kai is furnished with a launcher pod as the piece of equipment that supplies direct acoustics to the target. The Speaker Pod's special bullets (small speakers) pierce the target's armour and are fixed with a stopper and filler.

Related Matter: Another Fire Valkyrie
Although Basara lost the VF-19 Kai in the fight with the Protodevilun, he later piloted the VF-19P, a similar craft, on the the planet Zola. When he tried to make the Galactic Whales listen to his songs, the white craft was unexpectedly transformed into the same appearance as his beloved deep crimson craft.

Caption: "D7" The appearance of the VF-19P, which was showered in the Galactic Whale's pollen and transformed to a deep red colour, was something that closely resembled the Fire Valkyrie.
