Aerospace-use Booster
To prepare the VA-3C for activity inside and outside of Zola, the poaching group that was active around the planet Zola aimed at improving the VA-3C Kai's operability with the optimization of the combustion system that combined with Zola's atmospheric composition and adding strengthening to it's underwater mobilization capabilities (increasing the depth it can travel to and extending the length of time it can act underwater). Because the VA-3C Kai -which inherited the special characteristics of the VA-3 series- excels in the amount of payload it can carry, it easily operated such optional equipment, which compensated for the genericness that was the weakness of this craft.

Optional Parts
A: Rocket Boosters
Rocket Boosters that have a reverse nozzle in the front are installed on the surface of the aircraft, behind the cockpit.

B: Gun Pod
The harpoon equipped gun pod is mounted in a way that's adjacent to the pod laid out under the main wing on the right side.

C: Spare Storage Pod
The spare harpoon storage pod is installed in the side of the pod laid out under the main wing on the left side.

D: Propellant Tanks
The VA-3C Kai is equipped with 4 tanks on the right and left sides, under the engine nacelles and in the air intakes. The tanks inside the air intakes were ejected when the VA-3C Kai was in an atmosphere.

Down: The underside of the airframe reaches a considerable volume when equipped with the options, and one can infer the payload ability of the VA-3 series from it.

The Transformation Mechanism
The VA-3 series, including the VA-3M and VA-3C Kai, has a unique airframe structure, as might be expected from a Variable Attacker (VA) that skillfully incorporates the characteristics of a Destroid. In relation to the transformation mechanism, it adopted an original system that differs from the normal VFs.

The structure of the rear part of the fuselage in Attacker form -which separates and becomes the legs when in Battroid- and the sequence where the main wings are reconfigured as a box-type unit for the shoulders and so forth, are especially characteristic of the VA-3 series.

Left: The VA-3C Kai in Attacker form. Characteristic of the VA-3 series, the parts that are the arms in Battroid are laid out in the center of the wings.
