Body Explanation
A great number of civilians lived within the Macross, which extended to an overall length of 1,200 km*. Extensive urban areas, which amounted to residential areas, were built within the ship. The civilian vehicles were an indispensable tool for movement in the Macross's residential areas, as the ship didn't have any other transportation links, such as commuter rail. The majority of the vehicles are not gasoline fueled types, but are referred to as low-emission vehicles that use hydrogen engines. The vehicles are fit for use within the airtight space of the Macross, where air pollution is a matter of life and death. Car models range from mini-cars to sports cars, and various, diverse vehicles have been confirmed.

Operation Record
It's thought that the civilian vehicles didn't use Over Technology (OT), and concerning their basic functions, it seems that they were identical to the vehicles that were manufactured and operated on Earth. Automobiles sales were also carried out within the Macross, and it can be inferred that automobiles were essential for the residents. In preparation for the Macross's transformation to Storming Attack Form, such things as wires were used to fix the car to the ground when stopped - which was a necessary consideration uniquely applying to the residential areas of the Macross.

Caption: Within the warship, the orientation of gravity changed due to transformation. One can grasp that the mini-cars fixed themselves to the road with wires.

Caption: New models of automobiles were also sold, and shopping districts that had a lot of pedestrian traffic hammered out advertisements for the new models.

Renault A510
A two-seater made by the Renault company. It has a simple structure that has a carrying space behind the riders' seats. In the top of the body is a combined information antenna and camera that supports the running of the vehicle, and also works as a spoiler.

Down: Side

Up: The circular part that appears on the top of the vehicle is a combined information antenna. The vehicle height is kept down to lower than the height of an adult male.

Up: When making a turn, the Renault A510 has a structure where the entire front wheel block swivels.* Lights are installed in the cover parts that encircle the front tires.

Vehicle Interior
It is thought that the Renault A510 is a manual car due to the shape of the shift lever. The console inside of the steering wheel is a screen, and it's thought that such things as the car's information can be confirmed on it. Behind the seats is a carrying space.

Passenger Vehicles
In addition to confirming not only several types of mini-cars, which are suitable for short range transportation, such vehicles as 2 to 4 seat sedans (passenger vehicles), sports cars, and large vehicles with spacious carrying space were also widespread.

Mini Cars
Up: An impressive mini-car with an egg-shaped form. The width of the vehicle is also narrow, and it is a specification that is effective at tight turns.

Down/Right: In addition to 3-wheeled types, types with windshields that separated the passenger seat from the driver's seat could also be seen.

Open Sports Car
Up/Right: Besides the roofless open design, this sports car type is equipped with a large rear wing.

Passenger Vehicle
Up/Right: A standard passenger vehicle that features a wedge-shaped body who's front projects.

Sports Car
Left: Excluding the Renault A510, various sports cars were confirmed in the Macross's residential areas.

Large Passenger Vehicles
Right: Large types of vehicles that can carry more than 4 passengers. In proportion to their inability to make tight turns, they can be loaded with a lot of luggage.
