Front

VF-14 Vampire
The Heavy Variable Fighter-Bomber of General Galaxy and Messi* design. The VF-14 was the airframe that was defeated in the competition by the VF-11 Thunderbolt in "Nova Project", which decided the main fighter successor to the VF-4 Lightning III. However, the VF-14 came to be a priceless treasure in some of the Emigrant Fleets, Frontier Emigrant Planets and so on, because the VF-14 has a superior flying performance in space, and yet is an able-bodied airframe that's easily maintained. In the game "Macross M3", Max and Miria of the Dancing Skull Special Forces Squadron board the VF-14.

* Play on words for the Messier company?

Caption: In response to biological weapons, the VF-14 that Max spurs on and has had a blue colouring applied to it, begins an attack.

Caption: The colouring is as Miria's craft. The Varohta Forces Fz-109 Erugazorn is an improved fighter that's based on the VF-14.

Neo-Guraaji
After the First Interstellar War, the Guraaji existed amongst the armaments of the Zentraadi Forces that were recovered by the Unified Forces. The Neo-Guraaji airframe is a Guraaji that has been studied and improved upon by Earthling's technology. Appearing in the game "Macross Plus - Game Edition", the Neo-Guraaji attacked the YF-19 that arrived in Macross City, as it is an unmanned aircraft that uses an AI -similar to the Ghost X-9-, and was under Sharon Apple's control.

Caption: Even though the model aircraft's silhouette strongly remains in GERWALK Form, the abilities can already be said to be different.

Caption: The Fighter Form. The weakness of the Guraaji, which are said to be its inability to dogfight without a booster, is resolved with the introduction of the Variable Technology from the VFs.

Related Matter: Dancing Skull
After the First Interstellar War, the human race spread into the territory of the galaxy. The rule of the Unified Government accompanied that spread, and a countless number of mutinous forces, which resisted the rule of the Unified Government, were also born. In 2014, the Dancing Skull Special Forces Unit was formed as a suppression unit by the two people, Maximilian Jiinasu and Miria Farina Jiinasu. Even though Moaramia Jifon -who had been raised as an adopted child (by Max and Miria)- received membership to the unit in 2022, Max and Miria separated from the unit for the benefit of Moaramia -who depended on her parents- so she became independent. Moaramia succeeded in her duties in the squadron.

Caption: Max's call sign is Blue Skull. He accepted the the Zentraadi child Moaramia as his adopted child.

Caption: Miria's call sign is Crimson Skull. She watched over Moaramia as a Zentraadi guide.

Variable Guraaji
An advanced series of the Guraaji type. It has the same three-stage transformation as a Variable Fighter: Fighter, GERWALK and Battroid. In the game "Macross M3", the Variable Guraaji is put into attack operations of the Unified Forces Reactionary Force's Experimental Institution Of Development, and it appears as an enemy of the Dancing Skulls. The pilot of the Variable Gluag is a bound 6-year-old Zentraadi girl. The girl believes completely in fighting. To give her memories other than of fighting, Max accepts her as his adopted daughter. As the pilot of the Variable Gluag, she was an experimental body in an analytical study of the Zentraadi factor, carried out by the insurrection organization.

Caption: The energy system in the Variable Guraaji seems to be delicate, and its handling doesn't seem to be easy.

Caption: Moaramia Jifon was changed to Moaramia Farina Jiinasu when she was adopted. Her call sign is Purple Skull.

Zentraadi Specification

Caption: GERWALK Form. It is the operating form closest to the archetypal battle pod, the "Guraaji".

Caption: Battroid Form. The point where the arms have been changed into power hands is greatly different from the Neo-Guraaji.

Caption: Fighter Form. The cockpit is an impermeable type, the same as the archetypal craft, and even though it is for use by children, it is for giant-sized children.

Unified Forces Specification

Caption: The Variable Guraaji has been improved to a micron-sized permeable cockpit, and the engine pods and forearms are also different.

Caption: The torso part, which is the nose when in Fighter, has been improved from the Zentraadi specification.

Caption: The airframe size can also be perceived to be miniaturized from that of the archetypal craft from the size of the cockpit.
