Front

VF-X-7 Ghost Valkyrie
An aircraft designed as a Variable Fighter based on the unmanned Ghost aircraft. It's fuselage shape is a lifting body that brings about a steady lifting power at high speed. In addition to the bank of 4 large nozzles, the Ghost Valkyrie is furnished with verniers even in the main wings; all of which produce great thrust. [Source: Advanced Valkyrie]

Right: The fighter form. Although the Ghost Valkyrie has canards in the nose, when rushing into an atmosphere they are stowed away, just like the head machine guns.

Left: The main wings are folded up and stowed away vertically, and considering that it's in GERWALK, it's unusual for the head to be exposed.

Right: The lower part of the bank of 4 nozzles becomes the legs, and the Battroid has an overall slender silhouette.

VF-X-11
The experimental AFTI (Advanced Fighter Technology Integration) aircraft. The VF-X-11 has engines on the top of its blended wing body airframe. It's total length is somewhat smaller than the VF-1 Valkyrie. [Source: Advanced Valkyrie]

VA-X-3
An all-wing experimental Variable Attack Craft bomber that boasts a very long overall width. Due to the pair of vertical stabilizer fins that are arranged in sets of 4 on the top and bottom of the tail plane, it realized an excellent directional stability when flying at high speed. Reverse

V-BR-2
A supersonic reconnaissance bomber. Bomber mode is a three-hull type like the VF-4, with engines in both wings, and the nose has 4 canards. It's over-all length is about two sizes larger than the VF-1 Valkyrie. [Source: Advanced Valkyrie]

Extra Report: Other Valkyries
Various possibilities of Variable Fighters were drawn in the "Advanced Valkyrie" model project, which conceptualized "the appearance that Valkyries have evolved to as aircraft". Also, such things as the Armoured GERWALK, which was published in an anime magazine, and the GERWALK form of the VF-X-4, which was drawn for an anime magazine's serial project "Macross Times", also exist. A lot of Valkyrie variations were developed in such things as games and models.

Armoured GERWALK:
An image of a VF-1J equipped with additional weapons. It has a twin-barrel turret similar to that of a tank.

Stampede Valkyrie
A Valkyrie with enhanced fire power and manoeuvrability. Assumed to be for space, the Stampede Valkyrie has high-manoeuvrability vernier stabilizers in a booster pack that also appears to lead to the VF-25's Tornado Pack. [Source: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Remember Me]*

* Errata: originally was "Source: Advanced Valkyrie"

Up: The additional armour of the nose part utilizes a radar-wave-penetrating composite armour, and the Stampede Valkyrie has a reverse-nozzle-equipped large propellant drop tank on the lower part of the airframe.

Left: In addition to the carried firearms, such as the large-calibre charged particle gun and the 35 mm three-barrel Gatling gun, the Stampede Valkyrie has missile pods in both shoulders and cluster-missile pods in both legs.
