Unified Forces Transports/Aircraft
The great variety of aircraft that the Unified Forces operated

Down: SC-27 Star Goose:
A micro-shuttle made by the Stonewell Company that was loaded aboard the SDF-1 Macross. It was used for such things as transporting the crew of the SDF-1 Macross.

Down: VC-27 Tunny:
A large VTOL transport developed by the General Titanic Company. Four moveable engines are built into it, and the Tunny is able to handle VTOL flight.

Right: VC-33 Mom's Kitchen:
A small VTOL transport made by the Glamour company and carried aboard the SDF-1 Macross. In addition to the 2 large engines, it is equipped with nozzles for VTOL.

Aircraft Explanation:
The group of aircraft that the Earth's Unified Forces operated were put to various functions according to that aircraft's characteristics, even after the appearance of the Zentraadi Forces in 2009 AD. The types of those aircraft extended into a wide range, such as transports for the transportation and carriage of such things as personnel and materials, shuttles that are able to leave and return to the atmosphere, helicopters for combat within the atmosphere, and aeroplanes. Among them, there were several varieties of transports and shuttles that were operated aboard the SDF-1 Macross as ship-borne aircraft and were used for such things as crew transport.

Caption: Even though the combat helicopters, such as the Sea Sergeant, fought against the Rigaado at the time of the Zentraadi invasion, they were easily defeated.

Caption: When the transports were used to transport important personnel, such as Captain Misa Hayase and Captain Bruno J. Global, VFs often took up the role of escorts.

Down: Dragon II:
A within-atmosphere fighter aircraft made by the MacNell Douglar Company (pictured is the Roy Fokker craft). The pylons under the main wings are able to be equipped with missiles.

Operation Record
These groups of aircraft, which were produced before the introduction of Over Technology (OTM), supported the military strength of the Earth Unified Forces from before the First Interstellar War. Even though such aircraft as combat helicopters were also invested into the anti Zentraadi fight, they were defeated without doing anything in particular and passed their roles to the the Variable Fighter (VF). On the other hand, such aircraft as the transports and shuttles demonstrated their abilities in the rear of the battlefield.

Caption: Besides playing an active role in the First Interstellar War, the transports that had a VTOL mechanism and could easily take off and land irregardless of the location were also active after the war.

SC-27 Star Goose
A micro-shuttle that could make a round trip inside and outside of the atmosphere. It was loaded aboard the SDF-1 Macross. As it's a craft dedicated to VIP use, its seats are equipped with pressure-resistant and radiation resistant shelters.

Down: Hayase Misa used it when she left to negotiate with the Earth Unified Forces Headquarters. Even though the shuttle suffered from an enemy attack, it received support from Hikaru Ichijo and others, and returned to Earth.

Up: When flying within the atmosphere, canards emerge from the underside of the nose and small wings emerge from the main wings.

Left: Trap [Passenger Boarding Stairs]

Down: The shuttle has 3 landing gears. It is able to land unassisted.

VC-27 Tunny
A transport that's a size larger than the Mom's Kitchen. It is believe to have transported such things as materials from the Alaska Unified Forces Command Headquarters to the SDF-1 Macross.

Left/Up: When the aircraft makes vertical takeoffs and landings, the engine nozzles are constructed to move 90° downwards like in the illustration on the left.

VC-33 Mom's Kitchen
A small transport that's equipped with twin-motor style engines. It transported the SDF-1 Macross' Captain Global and Hayase Misa to the Unified Forces Headquarters.

Up/Right: There is only one door for embarking and disembarking laid out on the left hand side. Just like the Tunny, it can make vertical takeoffs and landings by turning the engine nozzles downward.

Avenger II
A ship-board attack aircraft developed by the L.V.T. Company. The Avenger II has an arrestor hook in the bottom as its assumed to be operated on aircraft carriers. It was used in replenishing the SDF-1 Macross' supplies.

Up/Right: It can be equipped with a total of 40 missiles on under-wing hooks and a total of 2 missiles on the lower part of the engines.

Dragon II
The main fighter that was used by the Unified Forces before the First Interstellar War. Roy Fokker used a personal aircraft that had a somewhat different colouring (left side of the picture)

Left/Down: The Dragon II boasted high-manoeuvrability using two-dimensional thrust vectoring and VTOL nozzles. It is equipped with a 30 mm Gatling gun.

Combat Helicopters (Sea Sergeant / Comanchero)
Combat helicopters developed by the Tsiolkovsky Company. The Sea Sergeant is an anti-submarine, multipurpose shipboard helicopter and the Comanchero is a combat and attack shipboard helicopter.

Caption: At the time of the First Interstellar War, the Sea Sergeant was also used in patrol missions, and fought the Rigaado.

Down: Sea Sergeant

Down: Comanchero

Related Matter: The Anti-Unification Alliance's Karyobin
Left/Down: A fighter operated by the Anti-Unification Alliance. Its model number is MIM-31. It is equipped with a 35 mm Gatling gun under the nose.
