VF-27γSP Lucifer:
The ultimate type of VF, which uses implant technology.

Aircraft Explanation
The VF-27γ Lucifer, nicknamed "Super Lucifer", is the VF-27 that Brera Sterne pilots, equipped with additional parts developed by the Macross Galaxy Fleet's Guld Works. It is composed of armour added to various places on the fuselage, additional armaments, reserve propellant tanks, and the general purpose unmanned reconnaissance fighter craft "Goblin II / QF-5100D" mounted on the airframe's back. Manoeuvrability is received from the remainder of the Goblin II's output, which compensates for the additional weight of the Super Parts.

Operation Record
As the aircraft piloted by Brera Sterne, who took the mission of guarding Sheryl Nome, the VF-27γ was transported to the Macross Frontier Fleet. Even though the VF-27γ occasionally jointly struggled with S.M.S. depending on the situation, such as when they protected Ranka, in battle at the Vajra's main world the Macross Galaxy Fleet's leadership used his implants and took control of pilot Brera's free will, and used him to pursuit the YF-29. In the battle at the Vajra's main world, the VF-27γ was equipped with under-development Super Parts. Even though a single VF-27γ had superior performance, it demonstrated potential that approached that of the YF-29, which was a state-of-the-art aircraft from the same period, due to the equipment that it shared with the VF-27.

Caption: The VF-27γ participated in operations with S.M.S.'s Skull Squadron from the Second Vajra Engagement, when the Vajra attacked the Macross Frontier Fleet.

Caption: At the time of the invasion of the Vajra's main world, Brera, who had lost his free will, suddenly attacked the YF-29 with his Super Parts equipped VF-27.

Armament
The enhancement on the armament side by equipping the VF-27γ with Super Parts is on the order of the internal missiles that the Goblin II is equipped with, which isn't a remarkable armament enhancement. It's thought that this is because the VF-27γ already demonstrated excellent performance on the armament side, starting with the BG-01β Beam Gun-pod/Beam Grenade that it's equipped with, and the development of the Super Parts was primarily done with the main objectives of enhancing manoeuvrability and armour. In the battle with the YF-29, the VF-27 exhibited abilities that rivalled those of the YF-29, which boasts of state-of-the-art equipment, due to the VF-27's complex trajectory under the control of a cyborg pilot, and the support of its accompanying Ghost V9.

Caption: The BG-01β Beam Gun-pod / Beam Grenade has approximately the power needed to penetrate the exoskeleton of the Large Vajra.

Caption: The missiles that are loaded into the Goblin II are the typical Bifors BLM-04B Micro-missile Launchers.

Cockpit
As the VF-27 was developed on the assumption that it would be controlled by a cyborg pilot, it is equipped with a control system that directly connects the pilot's brain cells with the aircraft's central computer via an optical circuit. As a result, the pilot can control the aircraft as if it were his hands and feet. For that reason, visual control is unnecessary, and the canopy is covered by Energy Conversion Armour. Although a manual control system is also built into it, the potential of this aircraft cannot be demonstrated with manual operation, and the manual control system is installed for emergency use when the brain control system has persistent trouble.

Caption: The cockpit is also equipped with a normal canopy under the Energy Conversion Armour.

Caption: The pilot links with the aircraft, and it's said that the pilot's point of view is that the airframe completely feels like his own body.

Fighter Mode
The Goblin II / QF-5100D, which is on the VF-27's top when it is in Fighter, is an aircraft that was developed at approximately the same time as the AIF-7S, which is the latest version of the Ghost QF-4000 series. In contrast to the AIF-7S, which is mainly for outer space, the Goblin II is an aircraft that values use in the atmosphere, and flight control surfaces are installed on the main wings, which are attached at an angle to the upper half of the fuselage. It is a twin-fuselage type aircraft, and has an intake for flight within the atmosphere. As the Goblin II can use the atmosphere as propellant and coolant when it's in the atmosphere, it excels at cruising performance, and is able to separate from the VF-27γ, which is its mother craft, and make long-duration surveillance flights. On the other hand, in order to maintain the stealthiness of its fuselage there are only six built-in micro-missile launchers as its principle armaments. The two mounting pylons for mounting equipment on the outside of the aircraft, which is installed for special missions, combines the strengthening materials inside the aircraft with the support rafters that connect it to the VF-27.

Caption: The VF-27γ exhibited manoeuvrability that was excellent even when in a normal configuration, due to such things as a control system that required a cyborg pilot.

Caption: The two Reaction Turbine Engines that are built into the Goblin II are strong ones that each reach 515 KN thrust, and became the main reason for the VF-27's performance gains.

GERWALK Mode
The GERWALK form of the VF-27γ realized complex trajectories that are impossible for the VF-25 with the leg engine's three-paddle variable nozzles, the main wing engines, and control by thought that required a cyborg pilot. Also, depending on the circumstances, the VF-27 was also able to flexibly correspond to the requirements of the moment, such as launching the Goblin II. The Goblin II can be remotely controlled by brain wave control by separating it with the mother craft, and it is possible to use the Goblin II as the personal "eyes" and "ears" of the pilot.

Right: VF-27γ (Normal Specification)

Battroid Mode
When in Battroid, all of the parts that compose the VF-27γ's Super Parts can be confirmed: the shoulder protection parts, the upper arm protection and additional armament parts, the propellant tanks and additional armament parts, in addition to the Goblin II (and its support rack). The protection parts, which the shoulders are equipped with, are made of Energy Conversion Armour II, and are oriented toward protecting the weak sections of the aircraft, especially when in Fighter and Battroid forms. On the other hand, even though the engine nacelle additional units are also furnished with micro-missile launchers, they are also made of Energy Conversion Armour II and mainly have roles as propellant tanks for outer space, and they greatly extended the VF-27γ's propulsion time in outer space. The energy to operate these additional parts, which are made of Energy Conversion Armour II, is completely supplied from the aircraft side.

Caption: The VF-27 can also flexibly use armaments even in Battroid mode. With the Anti-Ship Grenade Mode, a solitary VF-27 can even defeat the Vajra Queen class.

Caption: Even though the Super Parts are not "disposable" equipment, if needed, it's possible to remove the additional parts in an instant with explosive bolts and lighten the VF-27.

Caption: Shoulder Additional Armour (with built-in Pinpoint Barrier Booster)
They are additional parts for the protection of the shoulder joints when in the Battroid form. Although the VF-27 has a pinpoint barrier generation system, a barrier generation system booster unit is built into the armour especially because the pinpoint barrier is often developed on the arms when fighting in Battroid.

Caption: Arm Pods (left and right set) A micro-missile launcher is built into the additional armour and armament parts that are installed on the outside of the legs.

Caption: Engine Nacelle Additional Pods (left and right set)
The forms that seem to encircle the engine nacelles are furnished with twin micro missile launchers in their fore parts. The rears consist of propellant tanks for outer space. They are made from Energy Conversion Armour II, and their operating energy is supplied from the aircraft itself (the same as the other parts).

Up: VF-27γ (Normal Specification)

Caption: The VF-27γ Lucifer intercepting Vajra within Island 1. Even when in Battroid, the VF-27 achieved complicated nimble control with the 3-paddle leg variable nozzles.

Related Matter: Ghost V9
An unmanned fighter aircraft specification by the Macross Galaxy Fleet, its official name is AIF-9V. It is the next generation of the AIF-7S, which the New Unified Forces uses, and it has overwhelming manoeuvrability that isn't attainable in the general manned aircraft. In the battle at the Vajra's main world, 3 Ghost V9 sortied with the VF-27γ Lucifer as attendant craft, and they attacked the YF-29.

Caption: 3 Ghost V9 attacked the YF-29. Even though a V9 can instantly defeat a normal aircraft, in front of the potential of the YF-29, the situation was reversed and they were shot down.

Caption: Even though 2 of the V9 were shot down and 1 craft remained and still pursued the YF-29, it was shot down in a clever plan where missiles were fired from the purged YF-29 Super Parts.
