Related Matter: The Performance Tendencies Of The Three Basic Forms
Although it is the same aircraft, the performance tendencies of each form of the VF is different. The differences in the tendencies is evident in Fighter and Battroid forms.

Related Matter: The Special Modes The YF-21 Has
By equipping the legs with the main engines, the three forms of a VF became possible. However, the YF-21 adopted a unique structure where the main engines are built into the back. In addition, it has the "Limiter Released" form, which could be called the fourth form.

Right: GERWALK Mode
The GERWALK mode acquires such things as VTOL performance due to the leg auxiliary nozzles and the main engines, which are assisted by thrust vectoring devices.

Caption: Just like the prototype aircraft, the mass-production VF-22S has the main engines built into the back. It's unknown if it has the Limiter Released Mode.

Left: Limiter Released Mode
The legs and arms, which are unnecessary in Fighter form, are purged. The YF-21 demonstrated manoeuvrability that equalled that of an unmanned aircraft.
