The Otec Co. was jointly established by the six main countries, in order to analyze, research and develop the OT that was obtained from the ASS-1. The OT that this company made possible to be practically used, in addition to its distribution being a cause of the Unification War, was also intentionally leaked both the Unification and Anti Unification powers, according to the Provisional Earth Unified Government. Energy Conversion Armour, heat-resisting space metals, energy capacitors, and composite power generation units are known as the company's products of this period, and they greatly contributed to the implementation of VFs. The same company keeps continuing even after the First Interstellar War, and it became the parent organization that created several affiliated companies and joint enterprises. Representative examples of them are the General Galaxy Co., and Garber Otec, who developed the knife for the VF-25.

Fold Systems
The Fold System is a technology that enables hyperspace navigation "Folds", which shorten the time to reach the place of destination* (although the later discovered Fold Faults made jumps impossible even for Fold Navigation.) Even though the Earth is the origin of the Macross, they had problems at first, such as in the Macross's first fold, where after the device disappeared, the ship defolded in a sector of space that completely differed from their target. Afterwards, stability is greatly improved, and in addition to coming to be standard equipment on such things as Long Range Emigrant Ships and the warships of the Unified Forces, the miniaturization of fold systems also progressed for such things as VF options and passenger planes. Also, they implemented "Fold Communication" hyperspace communication that appropriated fold waves, and constructed a Galactic Communication Network.

Related Matter: The Appropriation Of Other OT And Existing Technologies
As a result of the research of various organizations, commencing with the Otec Co., and experiencing contact with alien lifeforms, represented by the Zentraadi, the OT group that originated in the ASS-1 brought forth a lot of OT series machinery and tools. These are such things as SWAG Energy Conversion Armour, which applies surplus thermonuclear reaction engine power into armour defensive strength, and the Barrier System that was developed from when the Macross unexpectedly lost its Fold System. Also, OT led to the implementation of such things as the high-strength materials that improved the quick-firing of, and extended the range of compact, high-powered optical weapons and liquid-cooled liquid propellant cannons, implants and the BDI brain-wave control mechanisms (Brain Direct Image), which greatly lowered the technological hurdles that were far distant from what had been implemented up until then. Even though there were already a lot of technologies that depended on the benefits of OT at the beginning of the First Interstellar War, they were a black box at that time; and they become the technology of the Earth with their recent clarification.
