#03 Mayan Shrine Maiden (Zero)
The tradition of the Bird Man is handed down on Mayan Island. The Unified Forces Investigation Team lands on Mayan Island; they have recognized that the Mayan's tradition is a relic of the Protoculture. Shin returns as member of the Variable Fighter unit attached to the Asuka, and revisits the Island.

An Earth Unified Forces carrier that was developed as a VF-0 operating mother ship. The engineers, who were involved in such things as the development and maintenance of the VF-0, functioned as the unit that carried out experiments on this mobile base.

The two-seater type VF-0 has improved attack and electronic warfare functions. It was used as a training craft for pilots who were undergoing model conversion to the variable fighter.
